I'm no lady but while I agree age is but a number (provided it's legal over the age of consent - obvs!) the generational gap means that I'm far more comfortable meeting people within reasonable bounds of my own age. I just find I have far more in common with them.
So the ages I've listed on my profile are plus and minus 14 years from my own age. |

I care. I've found that people over a certain point older or younger than me just don't get my sense of humour. People seem to think it's all about looks and therefore if they're outside my age preferences but look younger then it's ok. But it's more about position in life, shared cultural references and stuff like that. |

Age is not just a number. It's a measurement of how many years you've been alive.
18 is the number used to signify that the person is 18 years old.
56 would be used in a similar fashion. But to someone who had been alive for 56 years.
I hope that's cleared that up.

In theory it shouldn't matter but my brain's programmed to go into 'mum' mode when I think of anyone 26 or younger. Which is obviously hardly conducive to getting intimate and I just don't think I could go there! At the other end of the scale, and being completely honest here - and not intending to offend - I have found unfortunately that a significant number of guys late 40s onwards *seem* to me to be a lot older than they are ... it's not just how well they've aged, it's also about how they look after themselves (or not  ), how they dress, and their (stuffy) attitude. Of course not *all* guys in that age group are like that but a lot (that I've encountered) are and it's off-putting when someone younger than you looks and acts like they're older.
So .... I tend to be attracted to the early 30s to mid 40s age group mostly ... |
