Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
Start making your Christmas puds.
We used to come home from church after the stir up sermon and make cakes. The Black Cake had been made weeks ago and was being fed regular doses of rum. As Black Cake is so much like Christmas pud we didn't ever make one.
Now that we no longer have Black Cake I buy puds.

My grandma used to make an unreal christmas pudding. She left us the recipe but it's just not the same! I'm sure she had a secret ingredient that she hasn't passed on to us. I haven't made one for years though! x |

The missing ingredient is grandma. Stir in some love and memories of her and see if that improves the pud.

I still don't think it'll ever be as good as hers but I may give it another go this year. |

Do it, just for the memory of her.
I can't attempt a Black Cake this year as it's too soon but I think I'll make one next year in memory of my mother. She loved baking and eating cake.

"Just carried out the annual tradition..... throwing away the Christmas pudding bought and unused from last year."
You need to change the tradition - they usually last two years before you need to ditch them. |

Carnation, really? We never did that. Carnation on jelly and tinned fruit.
