I haven't been to a doctor, but have had anxiety all of my life. I don't class it as an illness, I just see it as being aware and prepared for the bad things that will inevitably happen.
But yeah, it effects me in many ways. If I'm with a group, people think I'm aloof and arrogant because I don't say much, can't stand being on trains/tubes/etc, never ask women out unless they make it totally obvious. I'd never take meds though. I think that crap messes you up even more. |

Amazingly I've had it horrendously for a number of years however since joining fab in August it has eased massively I could never talk to strangers either in real life or virtual world. So much so I couldn't walk into a shop if I hadn't been there before I have been or I'd have a panic attack, quite often I thought I was having a heart attack due to chest pains making me more anxious.
The worst was loosing my job due to anxiety and depression which In turn lost more confidence and increased anxiety. |

You should go to you GP. It's an awful debilitating condition that can be helped. I have found that fab has helped with my confidence too.
Good luck x |
