I think some see it as a way to catch your eye, kinda like smiling across a room.

Except guys, here the room is really crowded, and we can't see you past the thronging multitudes. I don't have time to check my winks - I don't have time to reply to all the messages, never mind see who's winked at me.

because they can partition the site to take away that ability if you want or just learn to live with the odd wink the choice is yours ether way I think you will find winks are here to stay .

I sometimes do, just to see if that person will check out my profile. If they do, I might follow up with a message. Just sucks to get a message deleted and no reply

I ignore most winks, they just confuse me. Would much rather have a short message. Especially if it's from a couple xxxxx

Showing an interest without being intrusive or sending a message to get no reply ?? If I get a wink back I'll usually make the effort to send a message

We tend not to wink.

We respond to winks with a wink back if we are interested and then wait to see of its followed up with a message. Mostly it isn't so I don't see the point.

If we are interested in a couple we will message them.

If I like a profile I'll send them a wink it's not been lazy. Just think it's a way to catch someone's attention without sending a message.

I send a wink to save the hours spent refreshing my sent messages so that the second my message is read or deleted I can bombard them with insults for not replying...

Winking is not lazy. Copying and pasting messages is lazy. Hand crafting a whitty tailoured message is pointless.
