I've never had issue with them if there are any about. If I get a message from a profile i don't like it's a quick no thanks or ignore depending on if I can be arsed or not and that's it..done.

I don't find it to be a burden really.

I seem to recall a survey I read somewhere that put the number much higher op when it comes to online .

It is what it is and a feel your frustration part of the reason I'm on here and i stick around is because all the BS on here really does make me appreciate how lucky and how great my life is .

Not a nice thing to say I know but its a fact I have a great life great play partners so much going for me hence the reason I'm not a fake or pretending to be something I'm not in my case the reality of my life is to bloody brilliant to lie about

Profile that are not what they appear to be, fake photos, men pretending to be women/couples etc, I estimate that at least 50% of profile are 'fake'.

I think there are very few fakes on here. I think a lot of people like to shout 'fake' to feel better about their own lack of success.

I've been around this site for over 8 years. I've encountered a few dreamers and fantasists, I've seen profiles that have looked too good to be true and passed them by without a second thought but not sure I've ever encountered a fake or time waster. And there's a reason sone people seem to encounter so many

That's a bit harsh. I just assume that they're lonely people who crave the same attention that the rest of us do, but something about them means that they have less luck. So they change something about themselves to increase the chances of having people chat to them. Don't we all have at least one lie on our profile?

(mine is I'm actually half an inch shorter, a few days older, and I suck my belly in on our pics.)

It depends what you mean by fake. For men pretending to be women or couples I'd say 50%ish, but they're so easy to spot they have no impact at all on my experience on here.

For people using fake photos, maybe 20%.

For people who have no intention of ever meeting, 40%.

And yes, I'm just pulling those percentages out of my arse.

I've come across (no pun intended) one or two profiles I suspected were fake, ive had a few clear pic hunters but the biggest problem I've found is dreamers.

People that talk the talk but have no intentions of a walk lol

Does my head in a bit because you engage in conversation and spend time getting to know the person ready for a meet but the meet never materialises.

And to top it off I've never had a successful "arranged" Fab meet - in fact I've attempted to arrange 4 meets and they were all no shows.

Currently sticking to clubs...

I just had a guy message me who sent two "pics of himself" and they are blatently not of the same person!

Weirdly on his profile he complains about all the fakes on here.

Ive also been accused of being fake which I take as a huge compliment.

And I refused to meet one guy early on in my Fab career because his photos were pro ones and he was so gorgeous and gym fit. Turned out he was real. Oops!

People seem to throw the term Fake around to encompass those who simply don't want to meet, won't give out a contact number immediately to a stranger, won't commit to a meet immediately etc.

If you find you are coming across lots of so called fakes, could be the problem is your expectations or selection process.

That is true, they are not the same as dreamers or timewarers either. I think if you have a profile with several verications that can be cross referenced then it is highly likely it is genuine

I get offended by certain threads myself, and take it personally( not this one) It all depends on our Achilles heel. We all have something that we take personally. You are probably right. Some of these profiles are fake... Just perhaps not to the extent you think. But they tend to be easily spotted. I also think you saying attractive confident women wouldn't be posting on a forum in the day, as they have busy lives 'out there'. Some were probably offended by that. It can feel like a personal attack... Though I'm not saying that was your intention

How would you know? Your not a mum and you don't have a baby. One of the hardest things I ever done was bring my children up as a single mum infact I'd of paid to go to work for a break. Don't throw them stones your glass house might brake
