Hey guys I thought I'll ask on here as I see there is always plenty of people into their fitness etc.
I'm around 5'5 and like 11st so I want to loose a bit of weight and tone up but as being a complete noob I'm kinda clueless. Does anyone have any good diet or fitness tips that could point me in the right direction?
Thanks |

That's very vague mate, you would need to post what you currently eat and your current physical activities level in order to receive any sound advice |

Atm I don't really do much exercise other than work which could mean I could walk anywhere from say 1km to 10km plus depending on how busy I am (I do shift work so 2 days 2 nights 4 off) which doesn't seem to help really.
Diet I eat around once maybe twice a day depends on what I'm doing if I'm at work or not tend to eat alot of meat potatoes etc rice chicken it varies also probably alot of Chinese kebabs etc |

Not an expert, but try and look into macro nutrients; the carb/protein/fat content of what youre eating. A general reduction in carbs and fats while increase proteins will help. Drink water can help you feel more full. |

You eat once a day?? So you are not eating enough or exercising properly so you won't have not much muscle I'm guessing, best advice for you would get yourself to a gym with a "decent" trainer who will advise you on your nutritional Needs and a sound training program
By the sounds of it you need some close one on one guidance which you won't get on here my friend |

This! I track my macro needs that are tailored to my current training phase.
I do not..DO NOT..cut out all carbs. Not even when I am doing a hardcore cut phase.
Our body needs carbs, just try to eat better carbs.
You should definitely be eating more than once a day, your metabolism will thank you.
Your training would be dependant on lots of aspects including current activity level, fitness level, health etc. I would recommend seeing a PT or gym instructor for a more tailored plan.

You definitely need to go and see a PT. it'll be worth it! I trained like a dog doing what I thought was right, I lost 7 stone but didn't feel particularly strong. I got a PT who showed me weights and resistance training and the difference is amazing!
It's worth the money. Try and get recommendations for local ones! They give nutritional advice too. |

Radical, but instead of asking here go to your local gym. They will ask you the pertinent questions and work out an exercise and diet plan for you.
You'll be surprised how much you can eat and lose weight. I eat more than I did when I was 20kg heavier. Little and often of the right foods and move more.
Good luck. |

Before you do... See if "Active Together" is available in your area. It's a government initiative and anyone who is either inactive or wants to improve their health/fitness (so everyone, then!) can join.I think you have to have not used a gym in the last 6-12 months. Just Google.
With it, you get 3 months free membership to your local council gyms; I have a newly built one which is quite snazzy! Membership includes unlimited use of the gym, classes and swimming pools. (Access to courts at weekends.) Following the first 3 months, you can get a further three months half price which for me is around £50 for the 1/4.
Active Together also do their own classes separate to gym. In my area that includes Nordic Walking, trampolining, archery, salsa, Bollywood, badminton, rounders etc.
Finally, you can have FREE nutritional support, either 1-1 or in a group.
I'm also using a mobile app. "My fitness Pal" which is working well for me. You enter weight, current activity level, age and how much you want to lose per weekend it calculates your calorie aim for the da. In addition, it breaks down the nutritional info (macros etc as mentioned above) so you can see how you best need to optimise your diet- sugar in coffee etc; has a barcode scanner for a LOT of products (careful re weights and quantities though!) and you can input your exercise- just a nice little reward for having done some graft!
General:
1. BALANCED diet. Try to cut out the take aways if you can or at least make healthy choices- chow mien, chicken instead of beef, avoid fried, etc.
2. Mix cardio and strength.
3. I did no exercise and had a poor diet. Due to a knee injuryI need to avoid impact. Swimming generally is a great all over body workout and you can easily burn 800 kcal's an hour!
I'm absolutely certain I don't look it, but I picture myself gliding through the water with every stroke, like a lickle mermaid! My change in energy levels is massive; I've been ill with flu for a bit and actually missed not being able to swim. Who'd have thought it?!
PM me whenever you like, if you want to. Please put Weightloss in the message title so you don't get lost in the mail.
Good luck!
