I just commented with this on a thread but thought maybe it would be good to see just how this works in your area.
Last night I did a search for men within the age range of 28-35 within 5 miles. 265 results came back. I did the same search for women, 14 came back.
So that's like 18 men for every woman I think?!
What are your local numbers like? |

Er...I was just asking what people's locality was like for men and women! I didn't even think of couples because I'm not personally interested in couples. If you would like to conduct a more scientifically accurate experiment please feel free! |

Well, if we pool a large enough sample it should be possible to extrapolate a rough if workable estimate. |

6 couples willing to meet women
However I believe the sample age range is not suitable for Devon as mostly young people move away to get jobs; therefore I should conduct a search based upon my own parameters... if I had any; which I don't on account of me being a tart....
In general (and I have conducted this survey under a different profile a few years back I found the following to be true)
Men to women ratio 18:1
Men to Couples willing to meet men ratio 11:1 |

I must have misunderstood your point on the other thread then. It appeared you were trying to demonstrate how many more men than women there are.
My point was simply that by excluding couples you are not giving a true picture. Regardless of who *you* want to meet, there are plenty of men who will happily swing with couples, hence there are more women than you are implying. |

Sure, but I was just going by 'single' (I use that term loosely) people because it's usually men who are asking for advice on getting meets with women in my experience. |

There was a thread on this a while back searching for verified users within a 10 mile search radius with men looking for women and women looking for men. The ratios were between 7:1 and 10:1 nationwide for those parameters, with built up urban areas showing the best ratio for single men to single women (as far as it being a lower number). |

Maybe it's my location, or possibly using my own specified age range (34-58) but numbers came up as follows within a 5 mile radius:
Men looking for Women: 68
Women looking for Men: 11
Couples looking for Men: 12
Mind you, you can knock one off each of those to account for my profile, my partner's and our couples profile!!

Not sure but I've just looked at the local women and there is no way in hell approximately 50% of that are actually women, so I'd have to factor that in. |

Looking for women - 502 men and 88 couples

My search was for people aged 40-45, within 5 miles. I didn't apply any other filters such as having public pics, verified only or site supporter.
There are 29 women and 300+ men. No idea the exact number of men because when it gets to over 300 it doesn't tell you. |
