That would have been gone hours ago if it was in my house! It is my favourite cake.

It's before 1am but after midnight it qualifies as a midnight snack

"00.45 and the coffee and walnut cake in the kitchen is calling me. What do you think?"

What accents do they have? If it's a designer coffee, does it sound Italian?

Exactly - cake doesn't know what time it is, therefore it is acceptable to eat cake at any time

"Yes. It's too late. Have an apple instead. "

Hmmmm...that would be so easy to ignore if I hadn't bought a load of apples when I bought the cake.

South American accents, it is a Colombian Coffee and Walnut cake. Ooh, that might mean the cake is about 5 hours behind GMT?

Oh the penny has dropped - just a cake, not drink and cake lol. Anyway my point still stands, which is, ono-English accents are more seductive/tempting. So go for it

"I want to know is it to early for cake "

Just rename it breakfast cake, this can work for all manner (or indeed manor fnar fnar) of cake, such as dinner cake, 9 o clock cake or 10 to 4 cake.

It is never to late or early for cake, it is the right time somewhere in the world.

Well I actually followed M&C's suggestion and had an apple. SDM's nudge tipped the balance. That and knowing I had a load of cake to enjoy today. Who wants a piece?
