Not for something they have said. If someone blocks me I might counter-block, so they can't unblock me and nose at my profile when they want to. To be honest, you don't know someone has blocked you unless you look at their profile. I was commenting on threads by people who had blocked me, without realising they had, and directly replying to their comments. I only realised because I accidentally hit their name, when scrolling on my phone, and got the blocked message. |

Yes, I have, when I see particularly unnecessary insensitive or unkind remarks, or extremely offensive attitudes of one sort or another. I don't want to inadvertently start to correspond with people like that whose characters are at odds with mine. |

Yes, we have. There are lots of differences of opinions on things. Some people have completely different ideas and oddball opinions, that's great and interesting to hear and chat about, that's part of the fun of being here.
But sometimes somebody posts something really horrible, or continually makes nasty remarks that gives an insight into them, making us definitely never wanting to see them or let them even view our profile, it's a block for them I'm afraid. |

I block people that have been abusive to me in messages, not many and none from the forums.
I'm quite accepting to the fact that people have differing views to myself, I can see past that. However, I can use the profile notes for people whose attitude I haven't liked and don't plan on meeting, but may bump into them at a social, it's just a reminder of people who I may not get along with. Although, I do forget to use that most of the time. |

I rarely block anybody, once I blocked a guy from the forums as I was absolutely shocked by comments on a thread

I've blocked a few from the forums who've made snide or bitchy comments and clearly don't like me, and I'm pretty sure I've been blocked by some too. It doesn't bother me in the slightest and I'm certain they don't lose any sleep over it either.
But I use my block button daily for a multitude of reasons...there's no point in anyone being able to view my profile or message me if I'm not interested |

I quite like coming across them. I click on a profile to make such a note and realise I previously wrote "entitled tosspot" or "misogynistic arsehole" or whatever and feel a brief "yep, I was right" moment of vindication. I have been known to update "Quite possibly a cunt" by adding the word "Definitely" afterwards. |

I haven't blocked anyone on the forums just because I didn't like their views. I have blocked people from the forums who I feel have been personally insulting to me in some way. But there are very few. I've been blocked by more people than I've blocked |

I block for all kinds of weird and wonderful reasons as im sure others do.
Oddly though its rarely because ive had a disagreement with someone as if i blocked everyone id had a disagreement with i would probably have the whole forum blocked.
Rarely do i find out im blockec only if i accidently click on the profile. Although there was a guy one day saying he only blocked in rare cases when someone had really pissed him off, i clicked on his profile and was blocked, so that must of been an achievement |

Generally not. But I have pasted thread titles into private notes so I can remember certain comments. (though this system is frequently defeated when the threads get deleted)
There is one couple who used to unblock us, send a PM, then reblock us whenever I said anything slightly against Arthur Scargill. So in the end I found it simpler to counter-block.
But I'm going to have fun later on, trying to "PM from thread" everyone on here to find out what my personal score is.

Whilst I know what you mean, many of my blocks have come about from me questioning someone who was spouting bollocks. In which case I'd hate them to think that blocking me somehow gave them free-rein to spout even more bollocks.
