"Incredible. They released a new version a whike back with liam Neeson narrating."
Yeah I heard the new version, didn't like it half as much as the original.
Although I'm not ashamed to admit thats because I think the original is a classic and can't be improved upon.
Now having said that, I saw it live a couple of years ago for my Birthday (really awsome experience) and loved the cast in it, Jason Donovan, Liz McCluchon (I think that's her name), Riddion , and Justin Haywood and they were all fantastic and I'd happily watch them all again without thinking twice about it |

"Jeff Walkers.....
Love it or hate it?
For me it's awesome, the bringing together of talented musicians
Wayne?
John?
Jeff Wayne.....?"
thought it was a word association thing |

"I've got the concert tour he did on, apologies as Jeff Wayne sounds more correct, any how I fooking love it, "
We knew who you meant - I just wondered if Mr Walker had bought out another version. Listen to it and eat a bag of cheese and onion crisps and get both Wayne's and Walkers version |

It was probably one of the things that got me interested in music, thanks to one of my two outstanding music teaches i had at school.
Gone was the recorder and triangle- we were ushered into one of the porta cabin type extra classrooms, chairs and desks were cleared, blinds drawn, all told to lie on the floor with eyes closed and listen carefully, in silence- they WOTW was blasted out. Think that was when i realised music was more than verse/chorus/verse on guitar and drums and maybe why i have a love for random sound textures from people like Aphex Twin and The Orb |

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
The first time I listened to this, well let's say I pulled the covers over my head and didn't get much sleep...
The second time around more than a few years later was just amazing with a close friend, laying on our backs, on top of a large hill, stars out, the sound level to just before distortion crept in...
It's in my all time favourite lists for music and for me I find the best way to listen is in the pitch black preferably! I would I think love to go and watch the stage tour, just need someone to go with. |
