without the people at cern...we wouldn't even have the internet...
I'm against people constantly having a moan at scientists...yet are quite happy to use the tech thats developed if it suits their purposes... |

Exactly, without experimentation we'd all still be living in the dark ages |

What has cern got to do with the Internet?
Do you know what the OP is referring to? |

Not sure about cern or anything else, but this might give examples of The Mandela Effect:
https://www.buzzfeed.com/christopherhudspeth/crazy-examples-of-the-mandela-effect-that-will-make-you-ques?utm_term=.me81eVx5P#.nwL3rd0Vk
Probably affects more Americans than other countries, due to them spelling lots or branded products unusually? |

"In 1980, Tim Berners-Lee, an English independent contractor at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland, built ENQUIRE, as a personal database of people and software models, but also as a way to play with hypertext; each new page of information in ENQUIRE had to be linked to an existing page.[3]
Berners-Lee's contract in 1980 was from June to December, but in 1984 he returned to CERN in a permanent role, and considered its problems of information management: physicists from around the world needed to share data, yet they lacked common machines and any shared presentation software"
I'll look up the mandela effect...however I was pointing out that people generally think things like particle physics have nothing to do with the technological age we live in, and the age we will live in.

well I dont think the mandela effect is being caused by subatomic explosions in cern lol...there are plenty explosions in the universe that could do that anyway, referring to the OP's original question... |

I was telling a vanilla friend about an Internet forum I go on (didn't mention it was Fab ) and said how much is learned about things like Brexit. I can now add this to the list. Thank you for that, I genuinely didn't know.
The Mandela Effect is just nonsense from what I can see... |

lol no probs...I think the mandela effect is just the way information is portrayed and how it is received...so I'd say its more about psychology than anything else. |

Could well be, I doubt there is a plot afoot to change the spelling of Froot Loops (whatever they are) lol!
I sometimes hear of the death of a prominent figure and then think, "oh I thought they died a few years ago." I put that down to poor memory retention on my part though. |

Your thoughts on Cern,
The Large Hadron Collider."
Without Cern you wouldn't have been able to log on to Fab and post your thread.

Just because someone/black opps agency give us a toy to in gouge our ego's does not mean its safe...for the plebs.
As per usual on fab ask a question and people take offence!
Society always police's the inquisitive mind with ridicule. x |

I can't see the name Large Hadron Collider without childishly envisaging an accident involving a number of sizeable erections.
That's all I have to add to this, because the Mandela Effect is clearly pish. |

It will eventually help find the fundamental building blocks of all matter.
In the process many other useful technologies will be enabled.
The source of gravity, can gravity defying objects be produced?
Maybe enable cold fusion, allowing limitless, clean energy etc etc

"What's a Mandela effect?"
It must be pretty whacky as even tinternet doesn't say much. Something about shared memories proving hidden history or dual realities. Others might know more.
Could be true, but I gave up after a few lines. |

In which case throw your phone, pc and every other device you own that connects to the internet....
Who's taken offence? I'm merely pointing out the irony in using the internet to castigate the facility that created it.
You lost me when you claimed Cern was created by a black ops agency.
Is there a head wobbling emoji, because I could do with it right now. |

your memory is you recalling a past event. your imagination can make up new ones. people can be stupid.
mandela effect can seem very real when you include these factors. |

"Lol..wows some folks like really up tight on fab..
Let the hate flow luv ya..."
i think some people are answering scientifically and it can come across as a bit flat/emotionaless. but that's how science is, it's based on facts and not emotions. |

On the other hand, they did miscalculate the number of galaxies,
by almost 200trillion.
Now 200trillion in anybodies book is quite a lot.
So even though I love everything science has given us,I am a wee bit sceptical about most things they tell us,until proven,
and I do like a wee moan about their miscalculations,
especially when they are portrayed as fact.
Remember 200trillion.

I can remember the time when we had small family run hadron colliders on every high street. It's sad they have all been put out of business by this new fangled large hadron collider with its out of town parking lot spoiling the countryside... |

never said it was perfect...however what you class as a miscalculation I see it as more progressive use of our technology uncovering the universe in deeper detail than a previous year/decade/etc.....by any definition, its a great thing we now know more and of course..gives us more opportunity to envisage a richer universe and most definitely other inhabitants. |

Sorry Op if it sounded like I was taking a swipe at you...it was meant in general...and especially as some conspiracy theorists(not ones like yer simple who shot jfk or the twin towers etc), but ones gaining following from people believing the earth is flat...fucking youtube specialists...and those who think they've uncovered the secrets to a matrix style world.
They use the shittiest 'factual' videos, even add in some basement video editing, or even change someones eyes into a lizards via photoshop(I was doing that shit when I was in my teens),obviously because these super intelligent type 4 civilization's always fuck up on someones mobile phone camera/low resolution video camera.
