So who would live to just travel the world just up and leave one day not necessarily on your own either a mate or your fuck buddy but just spontaneously leave? |

I never went travelling on my own (as in a gap year) but I spent a fair amount of time working all over the UK, and I always went on holiday on my own when I wasn't with someone..
I would recommend it as then you have no one to please but yourself.. and I made so many friends, most of whom I am still in contact with all these years later |

Well done for that

Have done it before and never wanted to come home, really struggled on return..
In a position where I could do it again now, time wise and financially, but social factors this time around will probably prevent it!
Everyone should travel |

Saying that, you can do it on very little. I stayed in the worst places (many times for free or a dollar a night say) but I would be out every night in local bars talking to locals. Did this for three years solid. Did the world's highest skydive, trekked in Rwanda on the gorilla trail etc, even went to Easter Island to see the Moai...these are the things that cost me. |

That's the mentality I went with, but I met people who literally fucked off with just a grand and worked their way around the world as bar tenders, diving instructors etc. I got a job as a tour guide and DJ in Africa for a bit, just to extend the trip a bit. Better than staying here. |

My cousin and his Girlfriend spent a year travelling round the world a few years back, I have no idea what it cost them but their trip looked amazing. They mixed it up with cheap accommodation and then a 4/5 star hotel once a week. They started in the US, upto Canada then down to South America, including the Galapagos islands, Africa, New Zealand, Australia, China and Japan then on to Thailand Cambodia and Vietnam then finished off with a holiday in Dubai to recover. They've since ticked off the 7 wonders and add around 3 or 4 new countries/places a year, this is the sort of lifestyle I aspire too, however budget limits us to just one new country a year. |

I'm going to Poland in a month for £30 return? Can get a return to Iceland for as little as £50. |

I quite fancy Iceland and it's cheap to travel too but from what I gather expensive when you get there, besides I need to pay for 5, the biggest problem we have is accommodation it's always a struggle to sleep 5 without booking two rooms. Few years time and we'll be able to travel lots more |

I got to see a lot of places in the army, but I have quite the list of places I'd like to go to. I'm not entirely sure when I might get around to them though
Someone pointed out that you shouldn't wait if you have the chance; I concur. |
