Actively observe remembrance either by observing two mins silence on the 11th or attending a parade?

I'll be doing both as well as selling poppies for the RBL.

Yep - absolutely. My office always falls silent if it's a working day or I'll stop and hold my own silence on a weekend and Armistace Sunday

It's good to see remembrance is still observed.

At the going down of the sun

And in the morning

We will remember them.

I always stop to mark the 2 minute silence. Even if I'm out and about. I've had family that served in 2nd world war and many friends that have been or are in the forces and I'm proud to pay respect to that.

Desborough

At the last place I worked, if I was on shift on 11th I was given the honour of reading out the pre announcements and call to silence on the PA system. 2000 staff...no pressure

This year is a day off so I will be at the local service at our town's war memorial

I will. Remembrance of those we lost is important.

I have played The Last Post on a number of occasions at Remembrance Day events.

I respect that view but I still choose to remember those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice - their own lives - doing what they were told to do by others and doing what they saw to be their duty / jobs.

Always attend any remembrance event and wear a poppy as do my kids who will hopefully carry on doing the same when they are older. Have huge respect for all armed forces personnel past and present

i do the remeberance every year.......

but you have to also think of all the civilians that die unnecessarily because of our interference in things that we don't always get right.......and these innocent people (collateral damage) are forgotten

I'm on shift that day and chances are the place won't stop. Doesn't mean I won't be thinking of those lost and what happened.

I've been to the Somme and Normandy and it changed me as a person.

I'd urge anyone to visit, it taught me more respect than anything else I've experienced.

When I met Mrs, she'd been selling poppies in our area, for about 10yrs - so I helped with her rounds, for another 20. Usually try to observe the silence, wherever I am.

For me it's about remembering those who lost their lives on all sides, not just ours, Military and civilian alike.

Sometimes war is a necessary evil. It is never welcome, pleasant or without great sorrow and regret.

My tuppence.....
