An awesome feat by an amazingly focused athlete. The level of consisitency he's shown over so many years has paid off in spades.
World number 1
2 Wimbledon titles
2 Olympic golds
1 Davis cup
1 US open
So many ATP titles
Inspiring the next generation of British tennis stars like Kyle Edmund, Dan Evans, and Jo Konta.
Not a bad return so far from a kid who written off a few years back as a potential Tim Herman-like choker and would never win anything. |

"Brilliant news.
When was the last time a Brit was number 1?
"
1943 Fred Perry
And the first British born, world number one since the new rankings system began in the 70's |

Well done but at the moment he's basically there because he's been fit all season and djokovic has been out injured and now working his way back into fitness and form he should hold on to it until at least the French open though as djoks ranking points from the start of this year can barely be improved on. |
