had a bbq and a relative whos other half didnt turn up said they had their baby on Gina Fords contented little baby routine and so couldnt come as the baby must be in bed by 7pm regardless.apparently its a srict regime of feeds and bedtime amongst other routines and it works!couldnt help giggle over my own laid back baby rearing days of the eighties which seemed so different!any thoughts any one? |

apparently the baby now sleeps 12 hours a night ...its very strict from what I have read ....couldnt see it working with breast fed babies that well.you restict their sleep in the day which must be hard ...hoe does it work with working moms too? |

I go with the laid back 70's-80's way. One of my daughters tried strict way of routines with her first and gave up and reverted to laid back after 5 months. Said it was great for baby but so so retricting for parents and took the fun away from it all. |

" I was thinking that ...isnt it too much of a regime?you even have set times for cuddling baby and for walks/shopping |

mine gets bathed at 6, we watch in the night garden together afterwards then i read her a story and she's in bed for 7pm.
check/change her around 11pm when i go to bed and then she wakes me up around 7.30am
if she is lively and no chance she will sleep then i just leave her longer before bed by about 30mins.. |
