"Im on medication for it but when it starts i feel shaky light headed and dont want to do anything"
When I suffered with severe anxiety, I used to go light headed and feared I would faint, so never went anywhere alone. I sought help and avoided meds, I was informed that while I may feel light headed I'd never faint due to how fast the blood would be pumping around my body. The best advice is to do things in small steps and overcoming certain areas that you try to avoid, find a breathing technique that works for you. It may also help to try and work out what may be causing it for you, but it could be something that happened many years ago and now it's creeping back and causing the anxiety.
It's not nice, and whilst meds are a short term fix I'd recommend finding someone to talk to. |

I suffer severe anxiety but have had it under control for about 18 months now.
I am medicated but I also found cbt (cognitive behavior therapy) worked really well too.
There is a really good website that has information, advice, forums and live chat. I'm not sure if u can advertise it here but feel free to message me if you want.

I have anxiety issues but I started doing adult colouring on a daily basis last October, and my anxiety has fallen so much it's almost nonexistent. It's said to be akin to meditation. |

I suffer with anxiety...
when it first started in my early 20's it led me to have a nervous breakdown and the doctor put me on Valium and beta blockers!! I managed to get myself off the Valium pdq but the beta blockers helped for a while...
now when I feel an attack coming on I take steps to head it off..
breathing exercises help, as does meditation..
hope you get it under control OP |

I suffer from anxiety brought on by sensory overload due to an ongoing medical condition. It is not emotional anxiety but the physical effects are the same. Unfortunately cbt wouldn't be any help for me. |

Used to think it was all in the mind until i started suffering with PTSD, counselling helped me to cope with it no end!

Yes I have sensory problems too, so CBT and mindfulness isn't really that helpful. |
