Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Talk to HR and/or your manager. Your employer has invested years in you and should be willing to provide support.

Also, talk to your GP.

Look, you need to address this. Drop me a line and I can give you some words. I have some knowledge in this area.

No offence you may have knowledge but I'd advise the OP to see her gp and discuss it there rather than an anonymous source on a swingers site

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

No job is worth your life.

Go and see your GP, if you can afford it find a therapist, see if there is an employee assistance programme that can give you some immediate support and consider what you can do in order to leave if it is making you miserable (not your ideal job but your survival job).

Good luck and I wish you peace.

I despised the career I was in to the point it was making me ill. I sold my home had 6 months outand then took a minimum wage job that paid my bills...just... Worked my way up there and am now assistant managerin the same place and couldn't be happier. They were dark times and had to sell my only asset to get out of the hell I was in. Wouldn't change it though;happiness is everything.

No offence taken: GP is a possible starting point, but there are other NHS approaches here and I wouldn't comment where I not qualified to...

Thanks for the advice. Seeing my gp won't help unless he can get me a new job haha. I know i need to get a new job but I'm kinda limited (no job pays as well and taking a paycut wouldnt be fair on my family).

Just gotta keep looking....

I jumped in front of a van once, when I was 18. Just know that you can't be a victim of the world when your relise you are the world. Your the creator of your own destiny, youv acknowledged the fact the job Isint for you, not allowing your self to move forward stuck in a toxic cycle will do no good for your self don't be afraid to take a step in the dark life works in mysterious ways, and you may well find your self basking in an array of wonderful light, stay positive or maybe look for reasons as to why the job is good and try and point out what is good in what you have, instead of pulling at what in not good, some people lose track in a negative trail of thought... What was you happy about when you first got the job?

Wishing you peace of mind, love of others around you, and prosperity of your self,

P.s a fellow former suicidal idiot *kiss

Well if you were serious about the suicidal thoughts that's not exactly going to be fair on your family and will result in a much larger drop in income for the family.

I would have suggested the gp .. But .. Having something like that on your medical records isn't good so explore other avenues op.

Think about what it is you don't like and tall to yous line manager, friends etc first. Another reason is a gp would be likely to just hand out anti depressants rather than post the issues making you un happy. . See one if you must but check other avenues first x

Do you know what just put yourself first your no good to your family of your not here.

My job within the NHS was amazing but bullies by senior management made it horrid. I recently left and I also decided to whistle blow. I believe I was used as a scape goat now by someone else as I had decided to leave.

You can't pay for happiness

Future job prospects.. Some employers want to check, and with the advent of technology details can be aquired from your gp. i am not saying don't go, just think twice.

Do they have a confidential employee assistance programme you can use ? Many companies do and you can talk to a counsellor for free.

No job is worth feeling like that about. Like others have said talk to your GP.

I hope you feel better soon.

What absolute garbage. No one can access your medical records without your permission. I have had to have quite high level security clearance checks done recently and even they don't ask for medical records.

Making statements like this is what causes shame amonh those with mental health problems and causes them to struggle on without seeking the help they need.

OP.... if your job is really that bad then talk to your partner and discuss how much of a cut you can afford to take and get out. There are loads of jobs out there. They may not be perfect but by the sounds of it, neither is this one.

If you truly are having suicidal thoughts then seek help. Through your GP, speak to samaritans, mind etc anyone who you feel able to be open and honest with.

Plus nobody can view medical records without your permission. My dr contacted me when I was prosecuting my ex for domestic abuse the police wanted access to my medical records I had to give permission and even then my dr only released what was relevant.

It seems the current job is well paid , hence it's hard to find anything else .

So clearly the job and employer can't be all bad .

So maybe it's the op that needs to alter her thinking ?

And maybe see the job in a new light ?

Just a thought .

I feel for you OP and your words above do you credit but if I was a member of your family I would swap all the material wealth in the world for your well being as a human being .

the rat race traps so many in jobs they hate but I'm sure if you changed jobs and took a pay cut yes your standard of living may fall but your standard of life would rise .

its a balancing act op do your sums look at where all the money goes you earn and then think do I really need to be sending money on what I'm spending it on I bet if you done this you could see away to take a lesser paying job and still be ok as a family with the added benefit of you no longer feeling the way you feel .

Well, there's not much info about the OP's situation, so it's hard to gauge what's going on.

One man's "week from hell" could be another's cue to step out in front of a bus...

Needs more info.

Agree with joe, with the limited info we have we can only advise seeing the GP first if it is that bad, I was in a really bad place last October and I just left my job, luckily though it wasn't that well paid and I had some savings to fall back on in the downtime I had, I didn't have a home and was sofa surfing so I was very lucky to get out the job I hated but with an high income job, comes an high end mortgage etc.

What you have to remember OP is this: you have one life, your family need you either way would they prefer a happier mum (I assume you have kids) etc or a mum that is forever stressed and worrying about work and having dark thoughts.

You have to make that decision and with there will be sacrifices between all parties, if you have another half speak to him, go to the GP, you are the important one here, not a house, fancy holiday etc

X

Can you go learn a new trade or new skills so you can move to a better paying job?

On all honesty if your job though is making you that depressed then you leave no job regardless of money is worth taking your life over.

I don't suffer from it as far as I'm aware. But know those who do. There's no easy answer. And trying to get them to "snap out of it" is hard. But I think I do a good job of helping them cope. The brain is a fucked up bit of kit. But mates are the perfect placebo
