People freak about my attitude to death, they cant believe how matter of fact i am about it. Ive got every thing worked out for my funeral and have had for many years. The only thing that changes is the songs im having. I have my personal beliefs and for me dying is just one part of our life |

I can understand people fear the process of dying, there are good deaths and some that not so good even if they're inevitable and expected which is always really hard for the people involved and their families to comprehend during and after the event |

I think that's really good and just forward thinking, its fair to say your still very young and not going to die for a fair while but when i try to ask simple questions to my grandparents about their wishes regarding funerals they just lock up..

Maybe that is the reason, they dont want to think about it because they know they are closer to death..? |

This is how i see death, when someone dies we are really upset. In the last year ive known quiet a few young people die. Ive been upset, but then i ask myself why am i upset, firstly shock, secondaly because im going to miss them. I see dying as though someone is moving to the other side of the world. |

I've never heard of anyone dying and coming back to life and telling everyone, "Hey, fuck that malarky, it's bollox!".... so I guess it's not too bad an experience.
As someone said above, it's the manner in which you go that matters. |

Jay refuses to talk about dying. Fullstop. I guess he just thinks he is nearer to his time now hes at his age.
My great aunt who was 96 when she died had exactly the same attitude as me.
None of us no when we are going to pop our clogs, i could easily die before jay. |

If there is some kind of afterlife, then great. If not you won't know anyway.
I've made plans for my own send off, I'd hate to be ranting from the 'otherside' as they played some shite song or got the hymn book out! |

my personal mantra is ..
The purpose of life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave with a well-preserved body, but rather to Slide in Sideways, completely used up, yelling and screaming, what a ride! — Author Unknown
this has been formed due to lots of things ,, including 20 years of a bad marrage. my partner beating cancer and being 7 years in remission this week... a good excuse to party..
losing my dad last year and his little talk to me about living life to the full.. like he did.. nothing phased him.. he taught me that there is always a way to do things, it may not be the most conventional but who cares?
life is for living... no i dont want to die... but I aint scared of death... |

"As Bob Monkhouse said "I'm not afraid of dying, but you feel so stiff the next day""
And Spike Milligan had the following placed on his Headstone.
"See, I told you I was Ill!"
We all have to go sometime. I've been to a number of Funerals of friends and family over the years, but those I, dare I say it, "enjoyed" was where the emphasis was on "celebrating" the departure of the deceased.
That wasn't to say, "glad to see the old bugger has gone!" but rather, to celebrate their passing, what a good life they'd had.
My brother and I did things that way for my Father's funeral 6 years ago. The Crematorium staff said they'd never heard so much laughter at a funeral before, as we recalled his life, the anecdotes, the good times.
So, that is how I want to go, to be remembered in all the good ways.
That way, it will pave the way when I do "downstairs" to a life of debauchery! |

When i die, there is going to be enough money for them to organize a party, old photos are to be shared by everyone who has them, antidotes told and generally a good time had by all. Its all been sorted. |

A bit like you, life is just a session of A or B choices, none are right none are wrong just consequences.

"well i dont know when where or how i will pass but its going to be someday i just hope im searving my country when i do "
The odds are against that.
My days of dicing with death in uniform are over and I wouldn't want to relive many of them.
What, of course, anyone who wishes to serve their country can do is to sign up as an organ donor - that'd probably help some injured servicemen and women - or leave your body to medical science. Contact the anatomy department at the university nearest to you which has a medical school. |

Two things that amuse me about the death subject...
When people say 'Don't speak ill of the dead' Why, if the person was an arsehole while alive that doesn't get wiped out when they are dead!
And the 'I'd prefer to die in my sleep' Why, would you want to miss the ultimate experience? |

We could be all dead and this IS the afterlife.
We are all just molecules that come apart then are put back together in different ways. Nothing disappears it all just gets recycled.
For instance my elbow used to be Mussolini's nostril. |

The ex-con ex-Labour MP made me laugh by saying it was one law for the rich and another for 'the rest of us'... US.. like he is now one of us because he isn't an MP anymore cos he got caught ripping US off fiddling his expenses and was sent to jail for it.
INcidentally, his 'moan' was that only Labour MPs have been jailed for fraud over the expenses scandal.
Tory & Libdem MPs have been caught too but not to the extent that a prison sentence was warranted.
Says it all about Labour really dunnit. |

its why someone dies suddenly.
the full stop, no chance to say goodbye or correct mistakes and bad feeling between you.
thats the worse part of it.knowing and living with the fact that at one stage you were close to someone and didnt take the chance to make things right.
and then all your left with is the uneasy feeling of emptiness, regret and sorrow.
think i'll get me coat. |

I'm not scared by death, I was with both of my parents when they died and both went peacefully. However my vision of death is the assumption that ill die in my sleep, an old lady, peacefully and without pain and my parents and loved ones will be standing at the end of that tunnel waiting for me, arms outstretched (like the end scene of Titanic).
What I am frightened of is if I'm murdered and die a violent and sudden death. Only today I read on the internet that a 60 year old woman was decapitated in Los Christianos, Tenerife, a random attack by a released psychiatric patient who followed her into a supermarket, cut off her head with a machete and ran out with the head - now that terrifies me.
