When you say bigwigs please note that this was a FIFA directive and football bigwigs of the UK vehemently oppose the notion.
FIFA (the world governing body) are saying that many people have died in wars from all countries and they don't permit any kind of statements from any country. Not saying that it is right, just explaining their reasoning x X |

Millions of Brits will be wearing poppies on the day, the FA could forgo the lucrative pitch side advertising for this one match and just fill the electronic hoardings with images of poppies if they are that serious about getting home the message to the watching public.
In fact the likes of McDonalds, Sky, and Easy Jet could pay for poppies to be displayed on the hoardings instead of their usual adverts.
There are always easy enough options to solve the matter..... |
