I met a guy on here who has since left and returned twice - every profile he had said a different age by a couple of years. Don't see the point really. |

I've never lied about my age...
in fact when I was in my 20's and 30's I used to have to carry ID with me for proof I was the age I said I was, as I had such a baby face  |

I find women lie just as much as men on here about their age. I see no point in it but then I'm still young, in fifteen years or so I might decide that 'age is just a number and I feel younger' (no, you just don't feel tired) and then take off the odd five or so. I guess it's self denial and a chance to avoid filters. |

Because you have an age filter set.
People lie about their age, sex, height, weight, hair, intelligence, jobs, professionalism, discretion, marital status, sexuality, pretty much anything you imagine there being a filter for.
I lie about being laid back and witty on meets, when in reality I am a nervous wreck

I know..
My point is plenty of women/couples do it...but as it is always easier to pick on the biggest group to find faults with..
If it really means that much to someone, ask them to show their ID,some other kinda proof..check for a wedding ring mark, spy on them at work or outside their house..the list is endless...if it means that much to someone...
in most cases the easiest option is to check the verifies(while it is not fair on everyone), it might stop this endless moaning about what guys are doing wrong... (apply the same preset to the other groups if there appears to be a problem in the selection process) |

Not read the whole thread but I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest that women do it too!
I lie about my age : I've aged myself some months as my Fab birthday is 1 January but my actual birthday is later on in the year.
So I appear (slightly) older on Fab than I really am!  |

Most men I have met have lied about their age...mostly by saying they are 5 years younger than they are, they say it is to disguise themselves from work colleagues which is bullshit lol

It's not just men, I remember a woman posting once that she was lying about her age by about 10 years because "everyone told her she looked younger". Sure, love.
I've met men who were a few years older than their profile ages. Didn't really bother me, they'd sent me up to date photos and I fancied them from those. |

You can change your age once. But there is no limit to how many times you can leave and return with a "younger" profile.
I know of one woman who has done that at least twice since we've been here. |

I got ID'd a couple of weeks back in the USA in a bar. The waitress didn't believe me and I was scrabbling in the depths of my bag for my licence fruitlessly for a while which made it look worse!

People lie about any stat that THEY feel will lesson their chances of a meet with the people THEY want to meet..So someone over 50 who wants to meet over 50's won't in general lie, someone 50 who wants to meet 30somethings or younger might knock a few years off to stay the right side of the magic 50.. Shortuns might add 2" just to get closer to the 6' that a lot of women seem to specify..

I actually find younger guys add years to their age to find older women and older guys over 50 tend to bring their age down to under 50. Its hilarious.. i just dont get why they lie. I have never lied about my age, im proud of it!! |

My age is slightly inaccurate for the pitiful reason that when I first signed up, I was terrified of people I knew spotting me.Ridiculous, I know, but thought it might prevent me from being identified.
Then I put photos on which made the whole charade rather pointless. I'm less paranoid these days |
