Just found some old footage of my grandad from his singing days in Cyprus.
He sang a style called chatista..A kind of chanting.
The chants would often include funny or poignant stories.
missing my grandad a bit right now but so proud of him.
have a look. He kicks in at 01.14.
The chap before him is his brother..my uncle

ain't it just. I was looking up old Cypriot music and chatista and stumbled on my gramps!
he was well known throughout Cyprus for his chatista and singing..He used to tour the island on foot and perform all over..
brings back memories of sitting listening to him as a kid. made my day this has |
