I enjoy reading, crochet and visiting art galleries (contemporary and old). Many of my close friends find these things uninspiring. I can find inspiration in most things |

Jigsaw puzzles of sea charts. Now doing the one of Portsmouth and Langstone harbours. I have the real chart as well but doing the puzzle as well really familiarises oneself with the intricacies of the information.
I could go on but I fear I might bore you. |

"Love reading, also do cross stitch, just getting back into knitting and trying to learn to use a sewing machine (not very successfully so far) x"
all of these...though I have mastered the sewing machine too
They are a means to relax my mind as each one takes a degree of concentration which makes it difficult to think about anything else. |

l just bought a diamond sharpening stone. Hand sharpening is very relaxing and it's cool to see an edge that is sharp enough to shave or slice newsprint. lt's also pretty to put a mirror polish with on the edge. l use polishing compound that jewelers use |

"Extreme camping but then again being a soldier I'm used to it loltry the isle here in winter for some extreme camping "
The Herbrides are pretty but too few trees and the salty air will corrode tools.
Galloway Park is great for camping. |

Absolutely - often with no real plan, and more often or not, getting slightly lost. I might get a bit more wondering this weekend if the trains aren't buggered |

London's what you make it .... there's everything you could possibly want there, somewhere, it's not just the tourist attractions. |

Cross stitch, reading, jigsaws both physical and online, sudoku. I want to re-learn crochet, I knew the basics as a kid, Nan taught me but I found it too fiddly. And I'm interested in upcycling furniture, I am eyeing up pieces in my home and getting ideas. |

Adult colouring... people either look at you like you're bizarre or they totally get it.
I read a lot too and some people still think it's nerdy, which makes me feel sad for them as it's such a brilliant thing to enter into whole new worlds via a book. |

Sitting and colouring with my little person is one of the most relaxing things in the world. Think I'll get one of the books out when I get home from work.
I do and have always loved books and reading. Have so many sat on my Kindle waiting to be read once I get through the bilge I am reading at the mo |

I collect vinyl records, and have a dedicated music room. All northern soul, tamla motwown, funk, deep funk and ska. People think it's strange to want to play vinyl but to me it sounds better.
I'm a Line Dancer!!...yeah...I know!!
I have a telescope and love astronomy.
I grow stuff....good chillies this year
I'm in a gardening club and a book club.
I play table tennis in a small club.
I'm Football mad and follow the Arsenal
I love playing arcade games and on-line virtual games.
I'm not sure if my hobbies are boring or not? They certainly aren't to me.

". can spend hours happily poring over maps or atlases ... there is as much to 'read' on those for me as there is in a book. "
Me too... I have quite a collection of maps and particularly like old ones.
I also "collect" plans of buildings and like remodelling them I'm the computer.
Cal also doesn't get my liking for old buildings and ruins. Thankfully my daughter does and she shares my love of museums and art galleries

I would love to collect vinyls but it's an expensive hobby I'm keeping out of for my banks sake
My mum used to teach line dancing 3 times a week. God it used to bore me to tears!! Helping broaden my interest in music though and was good seeing her win a few crystal boot awards. I thank her for it now |

ferrets and ferreting..always kept them and love using them in winter. old school though, no locators or trackers. just trust in your animals and your own ability to get them back out of some big Warren in a brakeny wood or wherever. takes some trust to let them go in the wild and have them be out of sight for oooh up to 40/45 minutes sometimes..it's cool it's like we're all at work together...I do all the clearing of the undergrowth around the holes a couple of days prior to going in with the ferrets, on the day I set all the nets and then that's it..All down to the ferrets to earn their keep...and they do. They keep themselves in dinner for winter and I get some too win win |

To me, anything involving transport, especially old trucks, buses and coaches.
I also have an obsession with maps and will read an atlas or street map in the same way someone will read a book or magazine, often for up to a couple of hours at a time!
I used to sing with choirs and gave performed across Europe. Will take up my classical singing again.
