I am a single man and don't own any cushions, I lived in a house with no cushions until my housemates girlfriend moved in. Now they are everywhere. |

Do you use them now? Would you have one of your own if she moved out and took her cushions with her?

To be fair, he never considered them until his ex GF made him buy a couple of them in his thirties. It's like she broke a cushion loving dam in him. |

I have found myself just sort of hugging them recently. And if I am eating and the plate is hot I will put one on my lap.
If she moved out, I wouldn't have one of my own. |

My experience of single men is that they do not have cushions. However of those that *buck* the trend and have them, Ligeia's experience is a trend, those that *do* have them are obsessed with ensuring you don't dent them, sit on them, move them or do anything that alters the very highly strung neurotic set up the cushions are working within.
It's right scary. |

I once purchased too many cushions in the 90's and upon moving had to leave them behind as couldn't afford a van move.
I now no longer feel the same about cushions. |

Just two that serve no aesthetic purpose whatsoever...
One to fill in the arse groove that I've worked so hard to cultivate on my sofa,n the other one that I rest my head on when sitting in said arse groove dent!

I have too many but I can't quite get rid of any as you never know when you need that particular cushion for your back or neck.

I have cushions only three, matching curtains for colour, two in my Ripple Leather Large Swivel Chair, which came with two leather cushions, plus half crescent matching foot rest, and matching electric recliner. With added extra two cheap pillows stuffed into one pillow case, so can flake out on, and snuggle up under something warm, and fall asleep on. |

Yes. 3 on the sofa and 4 on the bed. Why you ask?
A message exchange with someone where he said he had no cushions at all.

I think he has bed pillows but not scatter cushions. I don't know. It was a throwaway comment from someone I met at a party once. |

Cushions are amazing! I was slightly startled to discover upon divorce you have to actually buy them though
I've never been precious about them though and have an impressive collection in proper manly colours (beige).
They have developed a tendency towards pink and heart motifs in recent years though I'm sure there is no connection with no longer being single.

We have about 11 in our lounge! Where I sit I have to pile them all up to face the tv, which normally involves me spread eagle all over ads in the evening. Love ours!

Plus I have about 8 teddies (that does include a giant mini mouse and a smaller one) on our bed! |

Cushions are ok..... in their place, that is, the living room and other social areas.
But in a bedroom? Total waste of time!
And what's the appeal to have, as in some homes, hotels etc, masses of cushions standing up in front of the pillows. Does my head in! |
