What a dilemma .... lol my 7 yr old son cant decide what position he wants to play on the footie pitch? enjoys being in goal but he's also not afraid to get stuck in on pitch and enjoys that too. its really sad that at his age group parents are debating about how good their kids are when really it should be about how much fun they are having

tell him if he wants a superstar girlfriend in the future and make loads of money..... play in midfield... only the fat kids picked last play in goal...

only kidding.. if he enjoys being in goal that is cool... need a very thick skin to play in goal for the abuse he might get...

be honest with him and advise him wot you and his coach/teacher see has his best position is, that way he should play better and therefore enjoy it better, wotever you think playing should be,fun or to win, kids always enjoy it more wen they play well and win!

all positions are good no matter were you play on the soccer field;

I new a player who did a lot of different positions,good for cover in case the coach of the team needed it.run of subs or player get sent off etc

Had this dilemma with my son when he was younger now he's 13 and still plays in both positions for the team he's in, just let him enjoy it.

As for overachieving parents they will always sadly be there.

considering boys are only 7, they have a good little team so hopefully they will enjoy and win
