Not seen it, but it sounds like you need to have seen the stage show to understand it.

It's a tribute to the original.

I watched it last night....

Same words/songs as the original, interjected with scenes of audience participation, with Tim curry doing the narration, and directed by Richard o brien

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Brings back some brilliant memories of yesteryear

Hope I will get to see the new one at some point

London and France

Love the original ( stage and film) .

Seen bits of the new one;

Not sure really; it's just a direct copy of the original with new actors, not sure what chats about;

if they had to do a new one; it would have been better to give it a new interpretation

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Only slightly less pointless than the shot-for-shot remake of Psycho....

It's very Disney-fied.

I'm a huge fan of the original film and the stageshow. I did enjoy the remake for what it was. Tim Curry's assistant really made it for me. She was hilarious.

I watched it this afternoon, found it a bit 'light and fluffy' not at all like the original- which IMO is the best

Worth a punt though

Hated it, frankanfurter didn't work for me, watched the original straight after, I don't think it can be topped.

I'd not heard of a remake...

But really, why mess with perfection? It's just greed. Whatever the excuse. I don;t care who's in it...

Just stop, relax and take a moment to remember:

(Narrator) It's just a jump to the left.

(Guests) And then a step to the right.

(Narrator) With your hand on your hips.

(Guests) You bring your knees in tight.

But it's the pelvic thrust.

They really drive you insane.

Let's do the Time Warp again.

Let's do the Time Warp again.

To me, having Laverne Cox as Franknfurter misses the point.

Laverne is a true transgender; now a woman, so although she plays it well, it's a woman dressed as a woman. So no longer a transvestite

Franknfurter has to obviously be a man dressed up; that's what the campiness is all about.

It's a bloke "being" a woman; not a woman being a woman. Even if the actress is a transgendered person.
