Well i was just nearing the end of todays gym routine, half way through a set of tricep kickbacks when a little older woman was about to attempt a go on the dip machine, noticed she was trying to pay attention to the instruction sticker whilst putting the knee assist back up and hooked into place so i as the fine kind person that i am knew i should maybe keep an eye on her, first shes about to jump straight on with only 5kg of assistance, i jumped up off my bench as i knew she would never get back to top, explained because your fairly new at the gym ect and not as strong and experienced as some you will need a heavier weight as that helps you to get back up to the top, anyway shes managed maybe 6 or 7 reps when i then notice shes clearly never ever been in a gym ever, shes right at the bottom of the down stroke of the exercise when i notice one knee come off the pad and foot to the floor, omg i thought, no no no, clearly attempting to step off the machine which at her height wouldve no doubt resulting in the knee pad flying up and breaking the poor old ladies jaw, again jumped right from my routine and put my foot onto the knee pad, then explained when getting off, go back to top and the lower your foot to the side step and the again witb your other foot or the knee pad will fly up at an alarming speed and ko you,
I must admit i did panic slightly thinking omg thats going to hurt

I've only ever been to a gym when we've stayed in one of *those* hotels and I always insist on getting my money's worth. (Though I always go 1st thing, in order to build up a big appetite for breakfast, and leave as soon as anyone else appears.
Good deed, as far as I'm concerned? :- please don't notice me, or anything I do.
Simple really

"I'm just about to go and do a little old ladies shopping for her "
Aww, yes its the little things that make the world a place worth being apart off i think
After she had got off the dip machine she then went to the cable machine ( single cable ) with had the v tricep bar on as i had just which i had just finished using whilst doing a super set of tricep pull downs and lower weight kickbacks still had the pin at 70kg by this time im doing my calfs/quads, again not a chance the womans pulling 70kg down, again told her you be better off with 5 or 10kg and when your strength comes on and experience slowly add more weight
She thanked me which i thought was nice,
All the while the pt that was with hers over the other end of the gym doing her own thing and not paying much attention at the inexperienced woman
Maybe ask for a discount lol ? |

Well done you !!
But the gym should really be doing inductions on a 1to1 basis and on each piece of equipment to make sure the lady knows how to use it safely and effectively
Ive just got a bag of dog treats and off to local dog rescue centre now |

Well done you. You noticed a potentially dangerous situation and stepped in. Although I do question what the staff were doing if they did not notice this. |
