Do you find that, as you come to know (to a very, very small extent) the people on here, you start to identify them with their username? That sounds a bit 'well duh', but it seems rather strange having an picture in your mind of someone, and referring to them as hotfuxxx92...do you ever find peoples real names interesting when you eventually discover what they are, the REAL person, the one they are outside of fabswingers? And have you ever been surprised to find that some people are not what you were expecting, sometimes good, or bad? |

Everyone is shocked when they find out my real name, everyone on the scene calls me Kim or kimi, it is my middle name but my first name is unusual and people always say really?
There are some people that I call by their username, but only if it could be a name/nickname, I wouldn't go round asking if anyone had seen "couple4cum" or "swingingcouple" for example.
There are some people I know really well, but never been shocked by them or what they do, as we all have a life away from this. However, I have been shocked by what people I don't know too well, more from the fact I wouldn't expect it from anyone away from the scene let alone in it. |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
I literally struggle to remember real names for the people on here. I'll be chatting with Caz and she'll start talking about someone and I'll be ???, then she tells me the Fab name and I know who she's on about.
Probably doesn't say anything good about me but eh. |

A 'strange and unusual' name from a certain young lady that will remain nameless.... forgot where it came from, but never heard of anyone else with the same name.

Exactly! I just introduce myself as Lickety™ to Fab folk. Some are surprised by my real first name but most think it suits me.
I have been surprised that some have a better profile personality that just doesn't come through when you meet them in the flesh. Thankfully, that has been rare for forum folk.

Anyone else trust someone that much?

There is one person on Fab, although not on the forum, who knows all of that about me. He's unlikely to remember any of it, apart from my full name. He knew it all before I knew about Fab though.

Yes, there are two . Apart from that no one knows my real name, I give a variation of it. It's mainly out of habit now and it's another name used for me outside of FAB. |

At the LTP2 social, someone referred to you by your real name.
I had no idea who they were talking about.
You'll always be Lickety to me.
Some people's Fab name can be used in the real world easily.
"Would you like a cup of tea Lickety?" works well.
Not so sure it works the same for cumslutmaggie or pythoncockpaul.... |

Well, my friend would find it odd calling me Lickety after 5 years of knowing me as the non-Fab me.
Markoh also works well out and about in the muggle world.

I try to remember and refer to people by their name when/if I meet them. Whether that is their "real" name is a different matter. By I try to disassociate them from their username early on. People I haven't met are usually a username to me.
This is part of the reason Marc and I chose real-ish names as our username. Not many people know our actual names but at least we have a somewhat normal name that they can remember us as. |

I do get confused at times when people have real-ish user names to what their actual name is at times.
Therefore I find it easier to refer to them as their fab name so I don't accidentally 'out' them in the forum by quoting an @Claire instead of @Courtney for example.

I only know wonderful people here, so that's the reality and there are no surprises. Of course I pad my own fabrication of them somewhat, above and beyond what we glean from Fab. I take people at face value and think the best, as anything else isn't useful. I don't get too much attention but annoy some of us, some of the time but I'm an open book. Nobody would be surprised. |

We're not clever enough to maintain a second set of pseudonyms, so when we meet people we tell them our real first names. (but never our unique surname because if you Googled that you'd discover real family drama ) We prefer to call people by a their Fab name just to avoid any chance of accidentally naming them on the site.
When people change their username, sometimes their old one sticks in my mind regardless.
I don't think we're been surprised by anyone we've met (other than how friendly and welcoming people always are) but sometimes when I'm going on a profile to Fab an avatar, I'll realise that despite interacting with someone on the forum for a couple of years, I've never actually looked at their profile properly, and they're completely different to how I've pictured them.

Op. your right. Here's the the fab swinger and then there's the 'real' person.
I like them both, If I get to know them both. Or I just get to enjoy talking to, or meeting the fab swinger.
Does that make sense? |

I've always referred to users by their fab names, it's just easier as everyone knows who you're talking about. Redhead and I often discuss people like that even though we both know their real names. With one person it's because their real name really just doesn't suit them
