That's odd. I get this often (once a monthish) and have no idea why, it lasts on average a day then it's gone, would like to know also

Your eyes might be a bit dry and getting mild inflammation.

Get the squirter that you use on closed eyes. Give your eyes a spritz before you go to bed and see if that helps.
