Fella: notice it a lot on the forums and it annoying and patronising. I can never tell if they're taking the piss or being friendly.
Same with pal/bud/mate |

Hun, boy, fellas, mates. They make my eyes roll. And honey always brings up false sincerity undoubtedly due to many american films watched. I quite like some terms of endearments though, if regional colloquialisms like duck. I don't mind nigger used if it's in a reclaiming fashion. |

Even more reason not to patronise her with terms of endearment. |

Being called 'Pal'
Like the man who said "thanks pal" to me at a club, while i was fully en-femme and waiting at bottom of stairs to go up as he came down, thought a gent would of given way to a lady |

If I use any of those, I am deliberately being rude/ patronizing .
I and taken by me as insulting
( except if an Australian uses " mate". But they usually day "ya bugger" or "ya bastard " as a freindly greeting.
I would never use babe, hun, luv ( or love) to a woman .
I would use Princess to be patronizing or deliberately rude.

"Soooo... it appears that any attempt at using anything other than their user name would induce a bit of rage from some folk on here then? "
Username is good in my book if it's spelt correctly!!!! |

Hate princess, darling.
Like babe. One guy said he wouldn't patronise me by calling me babe as that's a pig in a film.
I replied saying well my husband calls me that.
He backtracked so fast I nearly got whiplash. |

I don't like anyone calling me any pet name unless its Dorian. But ones that make me cringe in particular baby cakes, baby doll, doll, hun, bae, babes... could go on |

"Sugar Tits! "
My last boss used to call me that...never used to bother me...plus she was the director of HR so not sure who I could have complained to if I had minded! |

I don't like the "Y" on the end of my user name..
It's only there to get past the 4 letter limit...
I think it makes me sound a bit camp... |

Honey bunny! When Ben calls me that I know it's going to be followed by something to piss me off...ie honey bunny, you've been sitting down for an hour, don't you think you should go and do five minutes on your exercise machine? |

No not rage for me, it's just a matter of confusion. Just read the posts on here. One guy says 'fella' to be friendly and another admits he uses it to be deliberately insulting/patronising. At the end of the day we're all complete strangers here so I don't like ambiguous communication. |

"I do recall cringing when a 50+ yr old man called me babygirl. "
I've had this happen to me, I also cringed especially as it was sent in the sentence 'daddy wants to spoil you babygirl' |
