Apparently a recent published survey indicates 8% of football fans asked, would stop watching their own team if it fielded an openly gay player...

No, I'm not interested in the game and all the shouting is undignified. It's just noisy.

Now, fencing is the sport of princes... and has the possibility of blood.

What I am considering is not watching the national team as they appear to be completely useless.

I don't think that would be an issue, it would be a new skill for a defender to acquire, being able to read an attacking 'mince' into the box

People are people and the only thing that bothers me is the pseudo macho bullshit that surrounds football and the sooner that dissipates the better

And thats the way it should be, what I hate is that everyone just has to make a point about being gay, bi straight when I don't really give a rats ass what people do in thier private lives as consenting adults.

I have a gay son and I love him no matter what but he never bangs on about it he knows who he is but does not feel he has to prove anything.

You will always get biggots in the footballing world it seems to go with the sport for some reason.

Not all fans are like that just a very small percentage

Wouldn't bother me if a player is gay or bi. unfortunately some men & ive even seen some women when near or inside a football ground start to drag their knuckles and they'd take great delight in abusing such players.

Well you said something about some gay men being effeminate, but in this particular topic I think that was just to cover yourself. I could hardly see a soccer player mincing around the field, flapping his wrist and shouting "I'm free!" ala Mr Humphries (showing my age now). Even of he did, as long as he's a good defender or scorer, who cares?

Imagine all the potentially excellent soccer players out there who have been deterred from playing, because they might have been a bit camp?!

I think that is a very good indication of what a progressive society the UK is on the whole.

What I don't agree with is the associations decision to advise players not to come out!.... What next, paint some black players white in case there's some racists in the crowd, fuck them if the 8% don't like it they can fuck off.

I think football fans are as diverse as any demographic, I know football fans that are thugs, and I knoiw football fans that are salt of the earth types, I know there is one Baggies fan who was a leading member of the BNP, but he wouldn't let anyone say a word against Cyril Regis.

My brother and his boyfriend follow the Albion home and away, they don't fit into the stereotype of mincing gay men, intact I don't know anyone more Manley than my little brother, so what makes people think that all gay men are a stereotype, its clear that they are not, there's a welsh rugby legend that is openly gay, can't think of his name, but maybe we should take a leaf from rugby book

Is it more like rugby now then where you get different points for different things?

3 points for a win, which is what haspens when you score more goals tan the other side

And trust me, no one would forget that first live game bumming, Alan shearers anal(ysis) would be something to behold, talk about coming from behind

Oh. I see. Thank you.

So it doesn't change if you win fifteen nothing then? Seems a bit mean.

If my team won 15-0 the whole team can bum me!

Didn't you say you're a Baggie? I think you're pretty safe

I know, that's why I said it lol

I think football fans are as diverse as any demographic, I know football fans that are thugs, and I knoiw football fans that are salt of the earth types, I know there is one Baggies fan who was a leading member of the BNP, but he wouldn't let anyone say a word against Cyril Regis.

My brother and his boyfriend follow the Albion home and away, they don't fit into the stereotype of mincing gay men, intact I don't know anyone more Manley than my little brother, so what makes people think that all gay men are a stereotype, its clear that they are not, there's a welsh rugby legend that is openly gay, can't think of his name, but maybe we should take a leaf from rugby book"

I agree with you, no one would mess with him and according to his interviews he received a standing ovation from the dressing room after his coming out.

Personally I wish that gay footballers were open, then that 8% would bugger ( ) off

Beard

Bumming aside, three points? I know nothing about football but I thought it was scored in goals not points.

Weird!

Personally I find the idea of having sex with another guy distinctly unpleasant.

But then I wouldn't be having sex with him. I would only be supporting him and my team in a game.

So I am not sure why this would be a problem

"Can you imagine the terrace songs though

(Insert gay footballers name)'s a homo

He wears a homo's hat

He plays some blinding football

And he's never seen a twat

He'll mince down the left wing

He'll mince down the right

And when we play against the wolves

Hell score all fucking night

Haha...but dont be robbing Wolves songs if your Albion

That was never wolves, they don't have it in them to come up with anything original, we were the first with we are the boys from the black country"
