FFS !
No it isn't!
Mind you I do know a few like that who think 40 is old!
Problem is, if that's the way you think, then you will become old.
Either;
Get a grip, or
Buy a pipe and slippers.

Your 40's are a riot.... it's up to you what you do with them....just stay out of M&S for God's sake.... I lost a good friend in the undies section. She hung up her lingerie for loungerie...breathable organic cotton will do that to you! |

Yeah but you're only 33.
(I said turty tree!)
To the original poster, I'm 43 and turning 40 was hard as I don't like getting old but I'm happily enjoying my sense of self and the confidence that comes with it.
Embrace your age.

"No, you and 4,194,000 other people (6.6% of the population of UK) are in the 35/39 age bracket.
So what?
That's a very peecise and pin point number
"
Yep; and the average age of the whole population of UK is 41.15 years old.
The point is;
40: so what? What's the big deal?

I'm 60 soon and trust me the next 20 years will go even faster . Enjoy it all, don't look back with regret and look forward with anticipation.
My dad who informs me regularly that "he's in his 90th year" tells me that 60 to 80 goes in a flash. |

"

There's a reason for this...
As you get older, each year is a smaller portion of your whole life. When you are ONE, a year is quite literally a lifetime... but when you're 40, it's only 0.025 of a lifetime.

I'm much less bothered by my 40th looming over me next year than I was when 30 was on the horizon. I remember feeling like I was gonna be on a downward spiral from there and the opposite has happened. I'm doing far more socially and activity wise than I was then and I've never been physically fitter either. All in all, could be far worse |
