I was interviewing for staff last week and I asked the candidate to tell me one of her strengths and one weakness......
Strength, she said, is that I get on with everybody
Weakness, she said---- well, I tend to be really lazy!!!!!!!!!!!!
What funny things have you heard when interviewing, or said yourself?
(No, she didn't get the job) |

One person, in answer to the question "Why do you want to work for us?" answered "I've been self-employed for many years and have worked hard, but now I feel I need to take it easy and have more of a rest."
(he didn't get the job either)

"I went for an interview years ago and the foreman asked me why I wanted to leave the job I was in and come work for them, all I said was working with a shower of gobshites.I did not get the job"
That's what 50% of guys who ring me for a job say. In our business it depends on the gobshite |

I used to recruit for a very large pet retail chain. Why do you want to work for us answers ranged from 'all those cute cuddly ickle bunnies need cuddles' to 'I've heard you bash rabbits over the head with spades when they are ill, I want me some of that.'
None got a job! |

I fucking hate that question in interviews. Everyone knows how it works. They ask you what your biggest weakness is, you make some shit up that isn't actually your biggest weakness and then everyone round the table has a giggle at how silly you are.
And if you're honest... you'd never get the job. |

I once asked what job I was being interviewed for in an interview, i'd been at a festival for 4 days before the interview and despite my best intentions of taking it easy for the last night I got wrecked instead and I had a few interviews that week so genuinely didn't know which job I was being interviewed for
Got the job so it didn't effect my chances that much |

I told an interview panel that. I said that I was sick of working so hard for myself, pulling all hours of the day and night, and I wanted to go back to having a regular office job.
I got the job.
I later found out that they really resented hiring me because I wanted to work there to 'be lazy'. |

I did admire her honesty, but yes I laughed, and then laughed some more and am still laughing!!!!!!!!!! |
