If someone came into your house and escape routes etc... or is it just me?
I'm a single mum so I always wonder if it's safer to get the kids out of the house with risk of them being known about and caught or get them to hide? And do I hide with or attack and distract while they hide? |

Me too and I think the same thing if there's a fire. Different escape routes depending on where the fire is. Oh the joys of trying keeping kids from harm and scaring yourself while trying to get to sleep |

Nah. I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to come into our house in any case, as we have two large dogs. But if it comes down to it, I wouldn't be running. |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
When I had windows replaced recently, they asked me to nominate an "escape window" that opens enough to allow me out in case of fire, a requirement it seems.
"All of them, of course!"
If it happens, your instincts will kick in - hope you never find out, just as I hope I never need the half a pool cue behind the bedroom door.... |

I didn't, until someone broke in one winter and then it was really rainy and windy. I would sleep with the phone in my hand -- there was no way out and I called the police a few times because the building wasn't secure (for anyone on the politics thread, this wasn't in Croydon) |

When stayed with ex and kids we had plans set out for the scenario if anyone was to break into the house.
She was to go in one room with all the kids and a mobile phone while I did whatever it took to fend off or delay the intruder/s from getting upstairs.
Always thought it safe to have a plan set in place for something that may never happen. |

Fire escape routes i try to plan. if you've ever tried to break a double glazed window you'll know it aint easy!
Intruders i tend to think of grabbing my kids and barricading us in a room. |

I try not to think about it, but I have thought about what I would do. Any intruder intent on harming people would be a hard opponent; I'd probably try to keep them at bay while my daughter got the children out. |

Just to warn people never have a weapon in your bedroom like a knife or a baseball bat because it's classed as premeditated and not self defence. Objects that could possibly be laying around that could double as a weapon are the best to have. I have a lighter and can of deodorant so it would be flame thrower to the face till they get the fuck out of my house. |

My plan is to build a machine that enlarges living organisms. Then I'm going to put the big friendly ferret in it and make him into Rottweiler size. Then if anyone breaks into the house I'll just set the ferret on them
Either that or hide under the bed and hope the dogs scare them off... |

To all the ladies above....a shovel is your new best friend after your toyfriend
Hits and hides the mess after
Ask the last guy that broke in to my house...if you can find him |

The thought of you wandering around with only a towel on and your clit going bang?

"I do have a heavy dildo in the drawer, i'd beat them about the mush with that till they sodded off." reminds me of lock stock and two smoking barrels.
'He then proceeded to beat poor smiffy to death with a 14 inch black rubber dildo'

I'd wait for the intruder to get in the front door then one inch punch him right through it leaving a man shaped hole while also screaming "WOOOOSAIIII!"

A standard ball point pen is extremely effective with a single blow when directed at the correct area apparently...

Worry about it when and if it happens, lifes way to short and precious to be thinking about possible scenarios like someone entering your home,
But seeing as you ask firstly i would start by offering them a cuppa and maybe some cake |

We don't even lock our door usually, it would save feeding the dog (Akita) for a few days

Instings. I've watched enough horror films to know how to survive.
Hide under the bed. When they don't find you and then watch there feet leave the room....asume they will apear at the other side of the bed.
Then....stab to the eye.!
I've got it all planned. |
