"Daft sod posting pics in uniform! He will have a professional code of conduct and sadly being on here will go against it. Discretion is a must for people in public service jobs. "
absolutely. What a numpty! I've not read the story but if true then he deserves a censure! |

What a numpty showing pics in his uniform, only has himself to blame for what happens next.
All employers have social media policies which give strict rules around conduct on the internet and bringing the company into disrepute. We've all heard of people being sacked after saying how much they hate their job on facebook. Any employer would be unhappy at pics in workwear which shows who you work for being used on a site of an adult nature. If I posted pics of myself in my work uniform I would expect to be sacked if found out!

Obviously a.private message correspondence. Is there a regular Sun/Mail employee on here fishing for stories? Or just a fabber not to be trusted? Silly fella shouldnt have posted pic in uniform. Wonder if it was also.sent privately thoigh. Screenshots might suggest so. Utterly gutless thing to do to someone imo |

That's it, if someone wants to know what i look like, they are going to get an artists impression, drawn by my 4 year old. Good luck identifying me from that |

Hhmmm....one site member said "when I get knocked back I like to throw my toys out the pram...even if it ruins someones career!" Bloody hell some people are pathetic...and even if it wasn't a site member giving the Sun their info, which it looks like it is, the muppets writing about it are just vile! What the hell motivates these morons?!? |

Bloody georgous, but a bit thick.
One has to assume that anything that is posted online (even in a members-only environment) is available for the whole world to see.
That, dear Fabbers, is why I never post face pics... |

TBH if his police outfit is in his private photos and he sent them to some one - yes stupid, yes thick but no wrong
Reading between the lines it sounds like someone has either grassed him up or he has been lured by the sun!!!!!
Maybe the sun should look at number of teachers taking illegal substances |

"Typical sun and trying to ruin someone's life. What people do in their private life is of nothing to do with the public unless it's illegal. "
Don't be naive.
For some jobs you can't even mention you're applying for them. They specifically mention not putting anything about the job on social media. The application, vetting process takes nine months as they drill down into every aspect of your life.
How do you think such an employer would react seeing you on Fab? |

You could send a private pic of yourself (whatever you are or what your dressed in ) to anyone and not be 100% sure it wouldn't be shown elsewhere.
This could happen to any of us if the sun for example decided to print a page full of pics for a story on swinging.....
All in the public interest of course !! |

In this case I'm guessing not!
I think it's the same guy who was accused of flagrantly abuse his position to chat up/feel up women (including very young ones), spending ages on fab etc when he should have been on duty, and more importantly ignoring urgent call outs to go on meets/chat ladies up/go on fab etc!
Posting pics in his uniform was just one in a long line of indiscretions - but one that is more easily provable so I can fully understand why they're doing it! |

Different police force, different part of the country, different face - so possibly not the same chap. I could be wrong of course, but it would appear he has not been investigated for anything other than the uniform issue. |

"Why does it matter what someone does in their private lives? As long as it doesn't hurt someone, leave them be"
It will matter to some people though depending on what job they do and how much they know about a person, some things you would rather not know or hear about, so it would pay to be more careful. |

I agree hh, this is definately not the same guy, I feel sorry for him, it would seem he's been very trusting and very silly, he was well established in fab with lots of meets, I think this makes you more trusting, the article reads to me like he's been snared by the sun, it just makes me realise that it's getting tough to trust on here, hope it works out for him, Mrs blue eyesxx |

"It said he would be in trouble with his job and his family so maybe hes married." . It also said they confronted him at his flat, i may be wrong but I think if he was married, they would have had great delight from reporting that they confronted him at his family home where he lived with his wife and kids etc, so I don't think he's married, he's probably very worried about his job and his parents being very dissapointed with him Mrs blue eyes |

Just another case of someone being a little too trusting and a little naive and finding themselves with their face in the tabloids again. Very sad. No other apparent misdemeanours outside of enjoying the lifestyle and being outed for it.
Quite different to the other case referred to; but it goes to show how quickly people can leap to conclusions. |

people in the forces are advised not to wear uniform unless at work - not even toing and froing - so their risk whether its right or wrong to be pasted all over the tabloids - they take the chance |

A couple of weeks ago there was a post on my updates asking if there were any real coppers up for a meet.
I imagine anyone answering such a post would be asked for proof and that wouldn't be considered unusual. |

Did they really interview a site member? |

To be fair this doesn't look like a tabloid sting, but the Sun reporting on an on-going disciplinary. So it looks like he was reported by another Fabber whom he'd trusted.
I don't see why the Sun would crop one pic, so judging by the lack of a Fab watermark, it looks like the uniform picture was sent from/posted elsewhere.

The problem is that as so many fab related stories have appeared in the press in the last few months it's fairly obvious that some of the profiles on here will be reporters scouring the forums/status updates etc for a potential story! When there's not much going on - what's to stop them trying to 'create' a story by putting up a thread/status asking for a policeman/vicar/politician/public servant/celebrity etc etc - ie anyone who could be potentially embarrassed for being shown to be on fab?
I guess we all just need to ask ourselves how 'newsworthy' we are and assess whether it's worth the risk of being on here!
And if any reporters are readying this thread - I hope you get bed bugs!! |

"Why does it matter what someone does in their private lives? As long as it doesn't hurt someone, leave them be" No and no one has said that it did . However the majority of members would hopefully have enough common sense not to either name their employer or pose in their works uniform which is for works related matters.
In the case of police officers we are paying them to do a job and as such they should be aware of the need for discretion.
It is completely unacceptable to pose in a police uniform when contacting other members . |

"I used to work with him, it's all over my social media! Fucking divvy" . In which case, can you clarify, is he married with children? I didn't get the feeling he was, some felt as he mentioned family in the article he might be, just wondered really, no need to reply if you don't want to, it would seem his profile was a single guy, not that I'm judging either way, I truly am just wondering,Mrs blue eyes |

I've chatted to said guy quite a bit over the years and I've received pics of him in his uniform but only privately not on fab! I'm guessing some one decided to report him, silly thing for him to do but no one deserves to have their private life all over the news!! Whoever reported him i assume they are on fab so unsure why they've done it!! We all ask for discretion it's a bit of an unsaid rule surely |

Well thank god for the British press, once again being the guardians of our morality, if it wasn't for them coercing minor celebrities into scoring cocaine for them, or giving false hope the thee parents of murdered teenagers, by hacking their phones, where would we be.

I don't I am afraid. I think he was extremely naive to post a photo of himself in uniform even in a private post. I have seen similar where you can identify the policeman from their badge etc which is also on show. I equally don't condone the person who outed him as everyone is entitled to a private life so it was wrong but he should have been a bit more savvy than that !! There will always be vindictive people with an agenda out there just waiting to catch someone out for the fun of it. It's a weird way to keep themselves entertained but we have to be wary that some people don't care about others lives. He was a victim of that sadly but he could have easily avoided it by avoiding the uniform pic. I get it about the uniform fantasy. Hell! I have been known to indulge myself ! But people have to be sensible on here.

However we pay the police their salaries and expect a certain standard of behaviour from them . It can never be considered acceptable to use pictures in a police uniform . He is not being penalised for being a police officer , he is being penaliset for using the uniform in a manner which is completely unacceptable. |
