iPhone battery since iOS upgrade

Anyone else having serious issues with their battery since upgrading to iOS 10? Mine is lasting a few hours and turning off at between 25 and 49% 
I've rebooted, closed everything, checked settings. Any other suggestions apart from the Genius Bar?  |

If the phone line over a year old, might be best to just get the battery replaced. It shouldn't really be affected by the os upgrade.
iphone batteries tend to die out rather fast but I pretty cheap to get the batteries replaced. |

Yes I usually charge over night and a full charge lasts 24 hours depending on use. But since the new iOS fully charged Lasts me 12 hours maybe here or there.
I also find the home button when unlocking is being a dick although i got the print recognition I'm having to put the password in. |

Seems like there might be an issue with ios10 after all.
My guess is that it's probably optimised for t hardware of the iPhone 7 and has some isues when run on older models. |

have you also noticed that it sticks at 100% for maaaaaany hours before dropping?!
Advice to fix: cycle and calibrate the battery display. How to: run battery right down until phone powers down. fully charge with official charger, charge for another hour or so after reaching 100% to ensure it's full. Repeat! Avoid partial charges if possible!
BTW if your phone is less than 1 year old they will fix it/replace it at the genius bar. If it's more than 1 year, a new battery is £70.
I don't like to get alllll conspiracy theory about it, but mine started doing this the week that the iphone 7 came out, even without me updating the iOS! |

On a related note - any of you having charging problems also use an integrated USB wall socket? I'm giving mine the side-eye after my ipod wouldn't charge properly after using the wall charger ONCE. |

Check your app refresh rate and other background apps running, having a quick read of it it looks like the update changes the defaults on certain apps like inbuilt fitness ones and starts them running in the background |

Installed and used tones of these, not had a problem so far, are you sure it's the wall socket and not the cable ? From personal experience I know that if the cables on its way out that can screw your charging up completely. |

I did have terrible problems with the 5s last year though. Did an upgrade and had terrible battery power after - I could watch the percentage tick down.
I spent endless hours trying all the battery saving techniques going listed online. I went back to the Apple store three times, I factory reset the phone so it was wiped and "as new" and I bought a new battery and it still bloody did it  .
I could find loads of people moaning about it online. It's almost as if a little bomb was planted in some people's phones.

Have to say my phone has been fine so far ( bet that puts the mockers on it! ) ..
I'm really enjoying finding out about all the new extras I can do now too  |

Apple build in what is known as planned obsolessence -in other words the updates are designed for the newest models , any updates used on older devices will make them work harder /slower thus making the user determine that a handset upgrade will be better . Like it or not thats pretty smart marketing huh? (Oh and btw Iam an iphone user before anyone thinks iam apple bashing) |

I've just updated mine so I'm just seeing what the new extras are, any good ones?
Battery wise, doesnt cut out but does run down quicker. |

Ooh there's lots ...
Look on the tips app for better list but my faves are interactive emojis and if I press the home button 3 times my phone turns into a magnifier ..which is great for me as I have to do a lot of close up stuff with my studies ATM |

I have an iPhone 6 , don't like the update but it hasn't affected my battery at all |

for home button go to settings,accessibility,scroll down to home button you can change what the button does in there. |

Similar issue was discussed on another thread, iOS10 doesn't always run well on older 4's 5's maybe 6's too. I have not installed it on my 5S. One possible reason for battery draining is the phone having to work harder to keep up. |

I just seems random though.
I know people who are still using the 5s with way newer IOS versions than I was using and having no problems.
My had a factory reset and new battery and still drained super-quick.
If I didn't touch it all day it would go from 100% at 8am to 5% at 6pm. Nothing was running and there were no apps on it - it was "as new"
I just think Apple puts a little "bomb" in some of them.
One theory is that Apple use two different battery suppliers and only one type has the issues. |

HI all, what you are saying this has nothing to do with iOS upgrade.. Your battery is dying.. it will get worst with the time. change your battery replacement battery is cheap i can fit it for you if you wish. What iPhone do you have?

My iPhone 5 s is 3 weeks old as my other one was stolen. I did the upgrade and it literally may as well be a landline fir the amount of time I have to plug it in to charge!! I have now resorted to taking a charger in the car so I can plug in when ever needed! |

Yep... same here ... same problems as everyone else are having .. the % charge level seems to jump all over the place too... I'm sure it's apples way of getting everyone to keep upgrading to newest model... crafty, clever feckers... |
