I like the bakery puff pastry ones.

Or my home-made ones, with home-made mincemeat

Putting off the start of mince pie season as long as possible, as on it starts...

"Just get a jar of Robinson's mince meat and a pot of brandy butter "

Make your own brandy butter, it's easy as pie (sorry, couldn't resist!) and much superior to shop ones. Keeps for ages in fridge.

I've had shop bought and homemade mince pies and they are all gross, in my opinion.

So someone else can have my share.

Probably because they are using shop bought mincemeat. It's too sickly and sweet

You can make mincemeat with meat in. It's a bit strange but ok.

It isn't strange. You can't tell it's there. ...It's the traditional way of making mince pies and it doesn't taste of sickly sweet stuff.

Totally agree, but needs must in a pinch and there's no brandy in the house

Mr Kipling, from memory. A standard pie, but with an iced top instead of pastry.
