Not for recording any debauchery I will start off by saying.

Going a few holidays next year (NYC, Dubrovnik, SE Asia) and looking for a decent camera to capture the memories as it were.

Looking at advanced compact digital at the moment, and have narrowed it down. Keen to understand if anyone has any experience of the following they could share:

Panasonic Lumix LX100 - would really like to know if the size and functionality is an issue as it is bigger, doesn't have built in flash or articulating screen...

Canon G7X

Sony RX100 iii

Also happy if anyone wants to throw a spanner in the works.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I got a Sony a6000 last year, a it is very good (just too good for me, which feels like an ideal situation! ). Since replaced by the more expensive a6300.

Reviews of all the recent Sony cameras seem to have been good.

Looks good, and a similar size to the Lumix I mentioned. Do you find the size is prohibitive?

Bear in mind I'm someone who has only ever used a pocketable digital camera...

Re: size. Because it's mirrorless, it's not much bulkier than the pocketable ones, but the sensor is soooo much better.
