We've been swinging since January and we find it difficult to ask if people want to play.

I'm sure you are not alone in that experience ....

But the fear of fear is an imposter which is best conquered swiftly....

If you cant be brave, be bold,,,,

Best of luck...

Not alone at all.

Chatting and everyone getting on great, progresses to that awkward point where you're all thinking the same thing but who makes the first move.

It's kind of like having 4 cars at a mini roundabout you all want to go but who goes first

Do you have difficulty engaging others in chat or moving the chat to play?

When me and hubby are chatting to a couple at a club I simply say -

We are going to find a room, would you like to join us?

I do understand that feeling, you should try being a single guy in a club and approaching people totally on your own! You don't want to be a nuisance to anyone yet you know half the people there probably have no interest in you. For somewhere so full of people it can be a pretty lonely place for a single guy.

That being said it's still worth making the effort though and you can meet some lovely people as a result.

That's pretty much the way we approach the move from chatting to playing too. We have a signal between us so we know we're both happy to play without having to go off and talk.

This

If they say no you can then just get up and walk off without issue and find someone else to talk to or go for a fumble.
