Anybody remember seeing Les Dawson play the piano?

Read a thread tonight that put me in mind of him, don't know why!

Yeah he was a excellent pianist he had to be to mess up a normal pianist would struggle to mess up. Shame he didn't have much time with his daughter

"Yep. "

Les Dawson was a talented pianist but pretended to play "slightly" badly, which took skill because he wasn't a tually playing badly.

A poster writing last night was doing the same, in my humble opinion.

"The man was a comic genius......

Unlike Benny Hill "

To be fair Benny Hill was actually very funny guy, it's just unfortunate that he made the move to ITV who controlled his output. His earlier work on the BBC was far superior.

ITV insisted on the semi naked girls, head slapping, sped up chase scenes "style" that he's unfortunately remembered for.

Did you know apparently Frankie Howard died the day before Benny Hill

News of the two deaths broke almost simultaneously and some newspapers ran an obituary of Frankie Howard in which Benny Hill was quoted as regretting Frankie's death, saying "We were great, great friends".

The quote fake and was released by Hill's agent, who was not aware his client was dead....

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Many of the comics of that time were absolute geniuses at their art.

It was all to do with the timing..

Kenny Everett was another great man from that era.
