I'm within half an hour of a beach and some cracking woods. There are plenty of hills for me to run up.
We have a cracking little area for shopping but lots of green space too.
It is big enough for me without being overcrowded and there is a real sense of wanting to push forward as a great place to live.
Oh and Miss Honey is around here somewhere |

South West London / Surrey |
We have plenty of nice coffee shops.
Other than that, have a lot of green spaces and a few parks. One in particular is lovely.
It's easy to get into London when/if we need to but far enough away the rest of the time.
Plenty of shopping choices within a short journey too.

We're only 20 mins away from Cambridge and all its great shopping, history, amenities, restaurants and pubs. Can't think of much good to say about the town where we *actually* live though ...

Lots of places to take the kids. Be it Welsh hills/forestry or the numerous beaches, lots of museums and Castles.
Near to Cardiff and Swansea and not far from Carmarthen and Tenby. Takes fecking ages to get to North Wales though, especially if you use the AA route planner and accidentally choose the scenic route
I love Wales. |

The love of my life comes from Stoke. For that reason, I won't hear a word against what in any other way is a total dive |

Within 30 minutes drive of every type of scenery, coasts, moors, mountains, countryside, big cities, tiny villages. People round here a regularly voted as the friendliest in the country. Decent beer with a proper head, a thriving local music scene. I could go on, but I think I've shown that I love the North West! |

You forgot the worlds greatest choir under the roof of the Liza Minnellium stadium. Shame they don't sing Calon Lan anymore. The kids just don't know it |

I can see the sea from the very top of my house. It's lush and green with lots of open spaces and woodland. I'm close enough to 3 major cities though to enjoy both worlds. I do love my rural bubble. |

I live in a 12th century village mentioned in The Doomsday Book. I walk on The Salisbury Plains and am 30 mins drive from Winchester, Newbury, Basingstoke and Southampton. Salisbury market on a Saturday is worth a visit. I'm just surrounded by beauty and history, no real crime and clean air. I'm v blessed. |

It's a pretty enough historic town, big enough there's usually something half decent going on. Small enough I can be out in the country in ten mins from home.
There's relatively little trouble and there's a massive student population so I can walk around town and hear so many languages and accents and I can find lots of little shops to cater for all those people and those things i like. Kinda vibrant
Fairly central in the UK. ..massively useful for my job |

Spent all ma life in a village 4 miles north of Derby which was nice, but sold up a couple of years ago to move closer to town. Everything I need is no more than a 10 min walk away, including the Attic |

bath |
Spent two thirds of my life living in Bath, have lived in various places in Europe and all over England for the other third of my life but have always returned to this city.
Can't think of anywhere else in Britain that is as beautiful as Bath it really is a pleasure to live here. A great rugby club to support, great restaurants to eat in, wonderful countryside to walk in, stunning buildings to admire and in my case great people to swing with. What else could anyone want.?? |

I'm glad so many of you like Brighton. I lived there for 6 months and it was hell on earth for me. Grim, just grim. Each to their own I guess.
Here is ok except for the lack of good supermarkets, rubbish cinema and general lack of anything to do. |

Place itself is nice but many of the people are fake... Commonly referred by my friends as full of bankers, gangsters and wankers...
Still it's close enough to Liverpool and Manchester so you can always escape fairly easily for a night out or a trip away |

Its clean, friendly, leafy (where i am anyway), good standard of population, good quality of lifestyle. Good clean air.
5 mins from city centre and 5 mins from countryside, 5 mins from airport. 20 mins in any direction i can be at the beach, mountains, river, deep countryside, deep forest or huge lake. |

I love where I live. Loads to do, and great scenery close by.
Nice people. And not far from London, and I loooooove London.
(And I've lived in a lot of different places and three different countries - this is my favourite place to be.) |

I live in an old fashioned fishing village in South Devon.
If you like the open countryside, we are only 20 minutes from Dartmoor.
I have beautiful sea views from my house, and can get my boat out of the garage and be on the water in about 10 minutes!
15000 people live here.
We have 15 pubs. My local is on the beach, so I can have a cold Guinness with my toes in the sand.
There are a couple of dozen restaurants, including Italian, Chinese, Indian, traditional English. On top of that 5 fish and chip shops. Our favourite of all is a fish restaurant, where the catch of the day is bought in by the owner's husbands fishing boat.
25 minutes to Exeter, if you want department stores.
If you like buying local. We have a couple of bakeries. Greengrocers and butcheries that supply local produce.
There is a a little art area, and some of the artists are producing some lovely stuff.
Live music scene is very strong. The band Muse come from here.
The locals are friendly.
A moonlit walk on the Promenade in the evening with the dogs is a lovely way to end the day.
Very little crime.
All in all. We wouldn't change a thing.

Music heritage
Vibrant nightlife
Restaurants
Museums (Tate, world, liverpool, marine)
World heritage site
Convention centre and arena
The people
The humour (well you have to be a comedian to live here )
Oldest china town in Europe
Music recording studio (used by some big artist)
Most listed buildings outside London
Hollywood constantly using the city as a film set.
And now, Dreamworks are turning St George's Hall into a Christmas wonderland with appearances from some of their famous stars, Shrek et al. |

Nothing.
As in, nothing to do, no excitement, no dramas, no d*unks, no street fights (mainly because there's little pavement or streetlights) if I walk the dog out front at night I need a torch, if out back in the fields at dusk I get buzzed by bats & hear owls hooting. Population about 1500 one pub, one shop. I can walk to the top of the hill behind the house and see boats sailing on the river Blackwater walk up the hill at the front and see the same on the river Crouch.
I still sometimes miss London though, usually when I have to visit & think ffs wish I still lived in Brixton!
