"Let your imperfections shine, and be proud because its all part of who you are..... " It's liberating. There's a poem by a Canadian poet called Shane Koyczan. I'll need to look it up. It's powerfully enticing in its description of the ordinary you.

As the OP says you have to accept your imperfections - many of mine I can do absolutely nothing about, and those that I can I do try. Now and then. Until I lapse. Then it's my own fault. "I am only just accepting all of mine, there are a few... Lopsided smile - have a scar in my smile line from a misadventure as a child so one side is slightly more pulled than the other. An over bite - a head brace was not for me in my teens so I still have it, just sneakily covered by a beard these days Burn scars on my left shoulder - another misadventure as a child and a tea service My right eye is slightly smaller than my left, you probably wouldn't notice, but I do Some other scars on my left arm from a misguided attempt to deal problems in my teens Little scar in my eyebrow - people think I shave it in, I don't So a few I guess, but they are part of me so I accept them, and most have a good story behind them and I love a good story." Well if it's any use, I can perhaps study these scars and other interesting things to confirm them.

Just ended up with a gut regardless of how much work I did in the gym. I've now accepted its just me and the way I'm meant to be. Much more relaxed now and hopefully it shows. " and happier for it. "I have a split uvula that looks like a snakes tongue Wow. What does the uvula actually do? I had an infection in my uvula causing it to swell. That was unpleasant." It's meant to catch stuff that's too big from going down your throat and cause you to gag I think. My uvula is particularly over zealous and swells like a balloon, always good for a couple of days off work though and a nice steroid injection in the throat lol. Can't imagine what having a split one must be like. Sounds very cool, and I would t see it as an imperfection, more an awesome talking point.

"It's a truism that nobody's perfect. And further, I'd say that the way in which we see ourselves is distorted, not accurate or objective. Personally I had an epiphany in 2000 (which I can't exactly share here) that went a long way to help me understand and be comfortable with myself. And then I was about 25 when it clicked - chances are that the other person is just as worried about their performance or body as you are. So if you can stop worrying about yourself and concentrate on making the other person relaxed, everything flows much easier. Once we realise that other people's lives don't revolve around us, it's plain sailing to keep a healthy perspective Exactly, it's not rocket science" It is for some people. You know me too well (besides 3000 miles distance right now so I'm feeling cocky)" But ill be home soon, I suppose fear can be a potent aphrodisiac

"I don't have botox so at my age I have laughter lines. Never bothered me but I was chatting to a lady the other day who had them and I was thinking "they are bloody sexy" Don't know why but they just where." See now I don't mind my wrinkles. There's too much focus on not aging which is utterly fairytale bullshit as none of it works

What are your imperfections? " I've got a lopsided smile and only one dimple. Also one wonky tooth. Scar tissue on my face means I can't grow a beard.
