Depends on the atmosphere I want.
Lighting is brilliant for setting a mood, so from pitch dark fumblings through to sunlight frolics and everything in between (candle light, dimmer lights etc etc) it's all good if I'm having fun.
And I like to consider the lighting part of setting the fun I want.

"Define lights. If we're talking neon strip lights then off.
Normal lights are fine "
Same here. Although I can't be doing with those red light bulbs as you can see fudge all with them on. |

"I have a led light bulb in bedroom with remote and fairy lights around bed frame
...low mood lighting for me "
You have fairy lights? I'm a tad envious. My Pinterest Bedroom selection features a lot of fairy lights around the bed |

"I mean as a 36 year old woman I hate the dark with a vegence
Have you got a nightlight? They do some good plug in ones in that Swedish shop."
I do but it's still too dark so I've slept with the main light on |

I sure your not the only one. And not something to be embarrassed/ashamed of
My ex used to ridicule me about it "
Good job he's an ex then, it's not nice to ridicule someone's fears. |

Obviously an ass should have reassured you rather than ridicule |

You could try those touch lamps, they usually have three settings and the lowest is a warm soft low light that gets gradually brighter each touch. |

Morning sex is the best, so curtains just open a bit. night time candles or dim lights, we have remote controlled fairy lights which are just about perfect. |
