Has the Strictly bubble burst?

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
I`m no longer a watcher of Strictly. The first couple of series were OK but then it got too OTT. Now they`re using silly props and "stars" are having hissy fits and throwing in the towel, prats who should have got kicked out early on are staying way beyond their time and the like. Plus the extra shows are dragging things out as well! Too long in my opinion.
Is it now time to pull the plug on Strictly? |

At least with Strictly it shows people learning a new talent that they may have never known they had and is generally quite entertaining - whereas the X Factor is so highly contrived that it defies belief.

True, plus we only see a small amount of what physical effort goes in to the training. |

Haven't ever watched a whole series of it to be honest, always catch the last few, I do it with most things like the xfactor too but have steered clear of that for years

I absolutely love Strictily. I don't watch very much tv but as I'm a dancer myself....I really enjoy watching people getting better at the different styles.
Plus I love all the Bling. |

As a concept it's worn out! But the viewing figures suggest there's enough life in it to keep going! If you don't like it, do what I do! turn it off/over! If enough of us do it maybe they'll be forced to actually bring something entertaining to the table. |

I had never watched it before this year, and I have to say....I actually find it quite enjoyable! I appreciate the effort that goes into it, and how nervous they must be. I'd crumble and forget all the steps (if I managed to learn them in the first place!)
I just respect that these guys are doing something I couldn't and I take my hat off to them. |

Exactly what I do. Can't stand x factor so simply don't watch it other than when forced to by friends |

I LOVE it!!!
My other half does the shopping on Wednesday's (Bake Off) and Saturday (Strictly). Not even the offer of a bj will keep him in the house!
Says it's a programme for brain dead morons without a life...whatever!!! |

I like strictly but do think the starting level was too high this year. "
I think so too: no room for growth...but I'm still loving it. Danny Mac will be busting a gut to beat Ore! |

Why I go during the day when the films have been out for a while to avoid people like you. |

If the bubble had burst then they'd be looking to pull it and there'd be no talk of who will replace Len.
There's so much television available as well as other things to do in life that no one HAS to watch it.

No way I enjoy watching strictly! Good to see folk having a go and some turn out to have a real natural talent for it. Some obviously don't but even still I commend ed balls for getting up and giving it a bash!
We all know he isn't a dancer but it must have taken some "balls" to go ahead and do it, there's no way I could!
I wouldn't consider myself an expert or nowhere near it but I do enjoy seeing them showing off what they have trained hard for! Ore's jive and danny's quickstep were brilliant!
Oh and some of those professional female dancers would not be kicked out of bed if they farted! |

They can't cancel Strictly, they simply can't - I'd be left dealing with an utterly bereft 80 year-old woman who is utterly obsessed with the programme.
She would be inconsolable. I'm actually serious.
When I ring or visit home from August onwards it's all I hear about. She used to fear winter - now she can't wait; she used to have zero interest in computers - now the daft sod can't get out of bed in the mornings because she bought a tablet and is arguing online with a estate agent from Hemel Hempstead about such and such a performance at 3am.
Don't mention cancelling it - life would be hell for me.
I actually think it's great too secretly - it's a shame it gets lumped in with other reality shows. Watching people develop a new skill is really rewarding; in sharp contrast to watching Z-list celebs stick koala bears up their bums in a jungle. |

I only saw a few episodes when Bruce Forsyth did it, I do have to put up with X Factor though, as my daughter loves it.
Neither thing really my cup of tea, but if you dont like a TV programme, don't watch it |

X factor is drivel, I see better talent busking in the street, but they don't have a granny who was a drug dealer, and bullied at school for having a pimple on their nose...and surely now coming second is what it's all about, as they only ones that seem to have any form of success.
X factor is everything that's wrong with society,,,eh kids don't bother doing well at school, just be an idiot, become famous for not having any talent at all and become a millionaire, it just promotes the easy come, lazy get it all now attitude that exists in today's youth.
Strictly somewhat better or was. It wasn't trying to be some redicooulus made up thing, and instead was about people learning a talent and competing, some decent music and Russians dancers in not much always a bonus.
However who are half the "stars" this year? Oh yeah they a bunch of those X factor Types who are famous for not being famous. I do think it's having its day, boring stars who nobody knows, and half the good looking dancers have gone.
Time the whole reality TV crap was axed and got back to some proper quality entertainment, and stop making everyone think they can be a star and get a proper job instead, |
