KIK....what's the fuss

I see lots of people put they don't use KIK so don't ask. But the curiosity set in, I've just downloaded it and can't really see the point of it.
Surely it's just another messaging app or am I missing the point? |

You can post things there that would get you a ban here. And that's just for starters....
I could message you a video of me all slutty just before a meet and you see how I look, again not something you can do here.
Finally you don't have to give a phone number to use it. Which is a double edged sword. It's great for keeping your pvt life pvt.
But does lead to some time wasters. I'm on it but don't use it regularly..

it's faster than chatting on here, instant messaging. you can contact people any time and they will more likely be about to reply. you can swap pics and video instantaneously.
and like above has said you can do all this and still remain fairly private and not give out personal info. |

Great as it's just as good as texting but you don't need to give out your number. Personally I don't see the problem it's a fast way to chat before giving out your actual contact details or meeting. |

Some people like to use it because it means that they don't have to give out their mobile phone number but can still be reached via their phone.
That lack of access also means that it can be used indiscriminately, with users open and deleting accounts at whim. And there are a ton of people who just use them to harvest photos etc from others, that titilates their wank sessions.
Methods of contact that include phone conversations, allowing you to engage more fully than via texts, are my preference. You can gauge another's reaction to your questions real time, rather than just seeing black and white details, when they reply.
It is yet another messaging app - with functionality that Fab provides for mailing and sending pics. I'm increasingly inclined to stay within Fab for most of my communication, until I sense that I'm compatible with someone and they're looking for a real meet, rather than gain more pics.
Whatsapp is a little similar but also allows free phone calls, using the phone's data - whether wifi or data allowance. You also swap phone numbers, so it means you've got standard phone service too. It's probably my preferred option, compared to kik. |

Whatsapp is linked with Facebook because it uses mobile numbers. Once you use whatsapp, people can find you on FaceBook and that's why I don't use it.

Yeah, the privacy is what does it for me, plus no need to hand out your number, very useful when arranging group fun with multiple guys and a single woman, means she doesn't have to give her number to the whole group and they can't find it out on their own. |

I've had a few chats with women on here that asked me to message then on kik. I did, pretty much each one replied with a price list.
I can see the benefits of kik but some use it to offer paid services that would obviously not be cool to do here. |

Live pics have a brown camera sign ( they cannot be edited at all ) Pre taken gallery ones have a blue box with a sunflower in |

My number isn't on social media, I made sure of that one.
I only want to talk to people on my phone if I don't mind them having my number, that's why I don't have kik |

We use this site only but have just up graded our phones so kept one of the old ones with a pay as go sim that we will give out the number to people we're arranging a meet with or for the couples that like to confirm that we are a couple (even though are well verified lol) after first set if we are going to stay in contact then we're happy to give out our normal phone numbers. Kik does not appeal to us but then we're not into photo swapping or video swapping there's enough pics on profile for someone to decide if they like us or not. |

If its happening on kik there is nothing that Admin on here can do about it as there is no way to check what has happened away from the site (if you mean reporting it on here that is) |

Another option for people to consider, is to get a mobile that's got 2 sim card slots in it - then you can carry 2 phone numbers, but just use one device, not 2 handsets. One can be a 'shag' number, such as payg, the other one your main number, used for non-shag friends and family. You can then use the apps of your choice. Can often be got fairly cheaply as phones too. |
