Profile hacked

How difficult is it to hack a profile on fab? I think mine was hacked, location changed to my actual location and first name on my profile, neither of which l ever do. I never share my password, which is too obscure to guess and my phone is password protected. I don't use fab on any other device. Obviously I've reported to admin and changed my password. Very unnerving experience, any tips, experiences or advice welcomed.

"That's worrying "

Isn't it, I thought I was doing everything right. Could have been worse though.

It depends if you have ever logged on somewhere other than your phone, or how guessible your password is.

If you tell us your new password we could advise you how good it is?

Only ever logged onto fab on my phone and not even my mother could guess my password. I can't figure it out.

This happened to me and here's how

Someone had access to my email account (don't ask).. they sent a password request when on the fab login page. Picked it up in my email and then changed a few things. They changed the password to the one i used for both my email and fab account... needless to say I changed things. So my advice. Change your email account password too.

Secondly if I log in on an android device and get my password wrong.. it comes up with my password in the box "helpfully".. so if someone got hold of your unlocked phone they pick your username from the login screen drop down. Get your password wrong and then android helps them fill out the rest... nightmare eh?

Central

Password hacking, when a username is known: ours are listed publicly for fab users to see, can't be that unknown in the world of IT. Even high security establishments go through that sort of hacking. I'd find it unnerving if my account had been hacked, so my sympathy is with you op.

It's lucky that the op's profile changes were so noticeable, such that the account can be given approprite scrutiny and modifications.

Admin take the site security very seriously, so my advice is to communicate with them, as they may have some specific advice for you op. Good luck!
