Newcastle and Gateshead

have to say I have been watching a lot more rugby than i would normally do..... more rugby than footy at the mo

anyway... big season coming up... autumn international up next month.... 6 nations in feb... then the lions tour at the end of the season!

so watched a lot of champions cup rugby this weekend and been really impressed...

Glasgow murdering leicester...

Saracens winning at Toulon...

Connaught beating Toulouse

the weird ending of the northampton montpellier game,

Pro 12 have done fantastic so far... but i still see Saracens and Wasps being there at the end...

any other rugby wonks out there (ex inside centre here) so i love talking and watching the back lines, and the way games are reffed....

You can't be serious

Current union player (just about) and having played both codes, league is absolutely brutal ! Not as interesting to watch I'll agree but the game itself is in my opinion the most brutal sport in the world. I had to stop playing league 10 years ago as my body couldn't take it any more.

I've played both codes too. I'm not sure if I'd be fit enough to play league now though. I actually prefer the contact in League, but that's mostly because when you are tackled in Union, about 12 fat lads come and sit on you......

"What's the difference between rugby union and rugby league?"

Rugby League has 13 players in a side and is about speed. Rugby union has 15 players in a side and is about power.

"What's the difference between rugby union and rugby league?"

Different versions of the same game.

Essentially, the RFU (and later, World Rugby) traditionally insisted that the game should be an amateur sport. Until 1995, players were forbidden to accept payment for playing matches, and could be expelled from the RFU if they were caught.

However, in industrial towns such as Manchester, Hull, Huddersfield and Sheffield, the game attracted a greater proportion of working-class players.

Since they could not afford to take time off work to play matches, a group of teams broke away and formed the 'Northern Union.' This developed into what we know as Rugby League.

"What's the difference between rugby union and rugby league?"

League is played primarily in the north by athletes, bigger tougher boys but is a bit bland, they have a tattoo and a punch in the face from the coach at half time .

Union is played all over by boys and girls that primarily are not tough enough for league and usually are better looking and more skilled , they have an energy drink and some haribo at halftime and restyle their hair !

Fabio- Outside centre

If we find a small enough pitch we can tempt Toby out of retirement..., he can choose scrum or fly half....

"What's the difference between rugby union and rugby league?"

League just run fast. It was created to make rugby faster.

Union have rules. But noone knows what they are until the referee makes one up.

Union is much more fun. Ignore any comments above about brutality until you have compared the size of Union players against League players.

Hooker- Choritz

Jimi uk looks like he is shaped for back row or second row

Fabio- Outside centre

If we find a small enough pitch we can tempt Toby out of retirement..., he can choose scrum or fly half....

I'll be happy to take inside centre or full back!

Miss Innocent can be our bare breasted inspirational coach

Can we have a big bath please .

Jo x

Absolutely! and unless more men, man up and step forward, the first seven selected wil be subbed with 15mins to go to join you in bath, whilst we lock the other eight out! "

Back row?

I went to school with an occasional England flanker (several years my junior- I am the same age as his sister) and the guy is f'kin enormous, and I think a back row would be even bigger!

I was hooked back in my League days, but I play on the wing in union, because I'm still faster than the young'uns!

I was a scrum half at school. Played against Ceri Sweeney at school boy level. Anyone who follows the Chiefs or Wales will have heard of him.

Unfortunately I had to play at centre that day as we were short on numbers. Dinked the ball over behind me for their winger to chase. Very skilful

Mini second row here, in 20 years second rows got bigger, heavier and faster or was that wings!

Do I have an aye for a fab boys and girls Lions tour.

What goes on on that tour most definitely stays on tour. Well some stuff would be too good to keep to ourselves and will end up on the forum

Anyone wants to start a thread on the best tour they have been on as hijacking Fabio's threads is a Federal offence!

Absolutely love rugby union... Have followed Saracens said neck was a child and they played on field in Southgate... Once shared a jacuzzi at a hotel in Richmond with some Argentinan internationals...

Haha I'm afraid I'm more of a football fan than rugby.

No need to be a fan Miss Innocent!

Just stay around semi-naked then give us a post match talk in the bath "

Big rugby fan here.

Glasgow were outstanding against the Tigers. Maybe some of the critics will back the fuck off pro 12 rugby now.

And anyone wanting to see the try of the season have a look at Tipuric's from Friday night.... the man is a magician

I was quick in those days and alternated between blindside flanker and open side 2nd row. I was quick out of the blocks, first or second to the breakdown get the prize and then let the slower lads clean up. I use the same tactics at swinging parties.

Well! We have just about completed the Fab 15 Rugby Union side and also have a fab backroom team!

Front row: Shamrockerman, Choritz and Mrs Jo-j's hubby!

Second row: Mrs Mellowbabes hubby and ????

Back row: 7)Jimi uk, 8)Sam and Ozzz(because he is now too small for second row )

Scrum and fly half: Kingoftheswingers and Toby

Centres: Nelson and Fabio

Full-back- Young big cock

Wings: ??????

Bbfb is player/coach so can fit in and change as he sees fit!

In a schoolboy error: Bestrideinthepark, Costasun and Honest Discreet Guy failed to mention a preferred position! Schoolboy error! They are therefore at Bbfb's mercy!

Masseur: Miss Honey..

Shower Monitor:Mrs Jo-j

Fluffer...oops! I mean post game motivational speaker and torso and genital soaper-Miss Innocent

Ball girl and fellow soaper: Foxy red

Has anybody got a ball?

Fatal error using the word 'beg'

If it has been a tiring game, it can be an effort getting your kit off!

The role is there for the taking!

Don't really follow Rugby any more (used to love it), but was shocked to hear the news about Anthony Foley tonight.

He was a fine player.
