Hi everyone,this subject may have already done the rounds.
But what are people's thoughts on sending a face pic in the first message?I only ask because a lot of profiles ask that you should send one or risk not getting a reply.

I only message guys with face pics in public so will always attach my face pic as I think its courteous to see who you are chatting to. I really see no point chatting for ages, not knowing what someone looks like only to not fancy them or them not fancy you when face pics are exchanged, total waste of time for both parties I feel. |

I think there should be a function where if you show a face picture, the other party's one shows up automatically too...can always switch off if not your type  |

My personal view is if you instigate the conversation, ie send the initial message then I think its only polite to attach a face pic (assuming you have none in public) regardless of whether the profile you're messaging has them in public or not. Then they can decide if there is any physical attraction and reply if interested. If they don't reply then no time is wasted playing message ping pong as they're clearly not interested.
Of course everyone has differing views and ways of doing things but that's my opinion on it. |

Haven't you just answered your own question?  lol.
If a guy messages me first, I expect him to attach his face pic. We're all here to meet and this isn't blind date! Lol. |

We've met people who haven't sent a pic with the first message as we've liked their profile but would expect one and send one before agreeing to meet. Will be honest though, if we're not interested in meeting even if a face pic is sent then we won't send a face pic and end the conversation there. |

If I'm messaging someone I'll always add a face pic, if they are messaging me first I expect the same. It helps filter out who hasn't read or profile too |

I've never been very good at doing as I'm told.
Personally, if that is what they say, you should either risk sending one, or accept that you may not get a reply.
We never send them, but luckily people can recognise us by our distinctive rucksacks.

Op I only send one if I'm offering myself up for a meet but that will only be when I respond to a forum post where someone is looking for a specific sexual experience that I know I can deliver and always use the delete picture when read option the site offers .
As I don't trawl profiles messaging I need need to do what you described if I did I'd send a face picture out with every message using the option a talked about above .it really is the simple way to stop any miss understanding down the line .
Now obviously the better looking face you have the more responses your liable to get but that goes with out saying those looking for easy sex nothing more will always care more about looks than anything else .
But hay op don't let that bother you as you will soon learn those who think like that are normally the ones moaning the most about the quality of the sex there getting i-e it not being that great .   |

We don't expect or demand a face pic on the first message,but we'd want to see one early on before exchanging messages.

I agree, demanding anything on here is rude. My old profile had public face pics so the person knew what I looked like. I did ask politely for people to attach a face pic as they knew what I looked like but that it wasn't necessary although the likelihood is I wouldn't reply without one. There are ways of asking for things on your profile so as to not come accross as a total diva! |

Ouch! Exactly what I worry about. I always establish as far as possible that I have no links before sending a face pic. Someone young enough to be my friend's daughter...well possibly!  |

I'm sure I state on my profile that without one you won't get a reply, I'm not looking to ping messages back and forth to then say yeah not for me, sorry.
It's up to them if they send one or not but without one I won't engage in conversation. If I message first I attach a pic so they know who they're talking to and can make a decision on whether I'm someone they'd meet. |

I like to receive a face pic first. I want to know straight away if I find someone attractive.

I don't need one with a first message. I like to see one relatively early on, but I've got no desire to see the faces of a bunch of strangers I've got no interest in. Also, I wouldn't send mine in a first message. |

Haven't you noticed that a lot of people that ask for face pics don't actually have any pictures at all on their profile....always raises a red flag for me and I personally never send them after reading about people that have and having them end in places they weren't intended....I know that rules out potential meets ,but hey ho that's my choice OP |

If I'm the one to initiate contact I'll always sending one and ask for one back if they are interested.

I tend to just delete if there is no face pic in the message,and the profile is empty with no verifications.. |

When Marc and I like the look of a profile we send our face pics in the first message. It makes things easier if they don't fancy us.
I much prefer to get face pics in a first message from others. I don't really get as engaged with conversations where the other person hasn't sent one...my interest falls. And having to ask for one gets tricky, too. I think the person to initiate conversation should send a pic first, but when they dont and I have to ask for one a few messages in, they then think I should send one first just because I asked first (even though they initiated the conversation). I feel like not sending one initially becomes a point of leverage, almost.
Anyway, no one has to do anything they don't want, but people who send face pics up front tend to have a better response from me. |

Just because you send the pic doesn't mean you will get a reply or even a pic in return.
If you want to send them a face pic, then do so. If you don't want to...don't. |

Nope. I've noticed that many people ask for them and have veris and other pics on their profile. |

I usually send one with my first message and most send one in return . If there's a mutual attraction, great, but if not then we're not wasting each others time.

If the profile in question has recent verifications on there profile and the couple very much of interest us, then we are more than happy to send a face picture with the first message. If they have been on the site for over a year with no pics and no verifications then no chance of them getting our face pics. Also if we get a message with face pictures on and unfortunately they are not for us, we will politely tell them so and return the kind gesture with our face pics.

As I work with the public I won't send face pic with a 1St message however I am happy to make one available if need be or their face pic has been sent.....
After all as I only look locally the person I message could be a customer or work colleague from my 2nd job.
And besides what ever happened to personality counts as opposed to looks.....beauty is only skin-deep. |

I ask for one to be sent on a first message as I don't want to waste loads of time chatting to find out I don't find them physically attractive. Saves on time and disappointment both ways |

I've been on both sides of this, as a single male I would often come across profiles that asked for a face pic first, if I liked them then I'd oblige. However if I got chatting to someone through the forums (as was often the case) then it becomes more of a 'who goes first' matter. If I was wanting to meet them then there has to be a level of attraction and for that a clear face pic is essential.
For our couples profile though we ask for a face pic on point of contact, simply because that attraction has to be there from the start.
I think it's a question of intention, if you want to meet that person then attraction and interest are the key points and no amount of witty repartee is going to change that
