So my stepdad was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer in march he also has liver cancer.
He was given 6-9 months.
Anyway hes been having injections for the liver cancer and thats shrunk giving him a better quality of life and the pancreatic cancer hasnt changed much. He has an ok quality of life at the moment and is only on paracetomal for pain.
So hopefully the old bugger will be around for a good while yet |

Fantastic news! My sister in law has terminal lung cancer and has been on some fantastic drugs. She was given 18 months, but is now 4 years down the line! Her tumours are reducing.! |

My old man is fighting similar battles at the moment.
This is buoyant news to hear. Genuinely pleased to hear of these victories! Thank you for posting about it and hope he makes more ground! |

Well done you, not an easy job. Sister in law was doing drugs trials at Royal Marsden, London, so was lucky to get the drugs. |

I hope he does too Christos. There are some fantastic ground breaking drugs out there, some are not always passed by NICE, because they are so expensive. That's the frustrating thing for sufferers and their families. |

Great news op
The advancement in the treatment of cancer is brilliant. My wee nephew has a tumour wrapped round his carotid that for years was to big to operate on but after taking sone wonder pill from America his surgeons say it can be operated on now but they'd prefer to wait till he's a bit older. He'll never be totally cancer free but it's a step in the right direction |

That is great news OP. Having lost both my parents in recent years at relatively young ages to cancer, it is so good to see advances in treatments that are improving more and more peoples chances of beating it or succesfully living full lives with cancer. Best wishes to you & yours OP x |

So sorry to hear that. Lost my mum in April, albeit, not cancer, but it is still very raw for us. |

I got into it after nursing my Father through mesothelioma.
He was given 12 months, made it 11 weeks!
One of the worst cancers to watch.
I had minimal support at the time & knew I wasn't the only one going through it.
Swapped careers from IT management & now I doubt I'll ever do anything else.
It's so humbling xx |
