As autumn approaches, how do you like your crumpet?

Do you prefer it to pop up in the toaster?

Or to get spit roasted in front of a coal fire?

Well I like the idea of toasting it in front of an open fire, but you've rather changed the dynamic of that in my head with the term spit roast.

Ok, so I'm not a fan of crumpets, however....

This morning Marc made me a breakfast sandwich with fried eggs, cheese, a sausage patty (veggie for me), all on a crumpet and it was delicious

Isn't a pikelet like a scotch pancake with holes in? Either way, it's not a crumpet.

Haha! I'm sure Marc won't mind. I can't cook anything so I might as well not be here.

And for the record- toasted thoroughly so they are crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, dripping in butter- finger licking good! Either with marmite on or strawberry jam, or nutella!

I could not have possibly put it better. Also I prefer a nice thick one rather than the thin ones.

On occasion I have even had the absolutely massive ones that you can possibly only fit two of in.

In the packet...you know the giant ones?

Ooo yes crumpets. Popped in the toaster although it would be rather jolly to have an open fire to 'spit roast' it on

Lashing of salted butter so it ooooooozes out on down my fingers that I have to lick them clean afterwards

Winter is the danger zone for me, as I crave carbs with butter, stew with dumplings and spotted dick with custard.

For the first time in 17 years I've weighed under 15 stones, and you lot start talking about crumpets dripping with butter.

You are welcome to eat dry crumpets - more butter for everyone else
