I bloody hate it when people read ya message and delete straight away or dont even read it and delete it whats wrong with a simple am not interested message back like?? |

I agree with Interrupted85, but following this logic maybe all of us should copy and paste standard message? I think it's quite rude, even simple "no thanks " will do, don't you think? I guess when you receiving 100 emails per day it's might build up your confidence that you don't have to replay. |

Being polite would take all day, then they wouldn't have time to look for people they ARE interested in.
It's a numbers game.

I reckon it proberbly takes me about 15 seconds to click back onto a message, reply 'no thanks' to a mail, send it, and then go back to my mailbox.
I currently have 85 unread mails.
About 80 of those I estimate will be ones I don't want to follow up.
That's 20 minutes of writing 'no thanks' in replies.
I suspect about 30% of them will email me back asking me to reconsider or asking to explain why I'm not interested.

Me sending a "no thanks" to someone I'm not interested in is a waste of my time in writing it and a waste of their time in reading it. If deleting makes me "impolite" I'm fine with that. I'm impolite and with time to spend messaging those who I *do* want to have sex with. |

Single ladies get inundated and the site rules say, no response means not interested. Plus if a message simply says "Hi" would you bother replying?
Just move on and maybe the next person will reply? Would you prefer it as it is, or an inbox of no thanks? |

I guess you are right ... 20 minutes its a long time.. I think it's down to person to be frank some times you will get a polite replay "no thanks" sometimes you will not.. but does it actually change anything? I don't think so.. all of you are right LOL. what's really interesting is when people write on their profile "please read" , "do not copy and paste" and other crap , and then don't bother to replay but I guess its normal. ok fuck the system ! and for those how replayed . thank you and let's have lots of fun! |

Because responding to messages to say no thanks means that when I turn my filters back on they can message me again. If I don't reply then they can't, which means they don't waste their time again and I don't have to waste mine explaining why I'm not interested in any invariable follow-up message. |

Probably most people on Fab are here for their own selfish reasons. And I don't mean selfish in a bad way, and I'm certainly not promoting bad manners. More that people are looking to have their own needs met. People don't join Fab to meet the needs of complete strangers on the internet. My husband and I do try to be polite and considerate to a point, but and the end of the day we joined Fab to find fun. And the daily admin job of replying to messages from men we don't know who probably don't give a toss about us, other than to want sex with someone, does sometimes feel like a bore. So sometimes we think, we can't be arsed to reply to messages tonight - we'd rather have sex with each other, or watch TV, or anything other than replying to messages with a 'no thank you'. Does this kind of make sense? Fab is not a charity. Don't get me wrong, once we start communicating with someone we treat them with the utmost respect. But I think it really should be widely understood and accepted that internet etiquette doesn't require a reply. It just needs to be accepted whether you like it or not. In the same way that junk email doesn't require a reply - these are people you don't know, so rules of 'real' life don't apply.

All I have had today, is messages from people that do not meet my preferences on my profile, they are too old/young, not the build that I like, I have also had follow up messages because I haven't replied with questions like, why aren't you talking too me? Not in a chatty mood?
Or the other usual 'love your profile and pics' yet they have a 1 liner and a couple of cock pics.

Sometimes just reading a few messages and _iewing profiles can take a lot of time - more than is available for someone - and they may be just from their current contacts.
The lack of replies is one absolute feature of fab that we all must accept and put it behind us, if we are going to be content on fab. If you can't, then it's not the place for you. |
